Why is thinness in women fashionable?

I saw at least 3 sets of implants in the images you posted.

You post "real women" as they are presented to you in a glossy magazine or on a porn site. Women who are made up and made to pose. Real women do not have to be made up or made to pose to be beautiful. Ask any real man what constitutes a real woman. And I can assure you, most would point to real life women and not women you think are "real women" because you are told they are.

Your notion of beauty is artificial. Do you know why? Because you follow the trend of what others tell you is beautiful. Do you honestly think that real women spend their time like the women in Playboy magazines? You wouldn't know a real woman if she ran you over.

Why do people look at naked "girls" in Playboy magazines? I think you hit the nail on the head. They are mostly "girls". Very young girls for the most part. So why do you look at young girls in Playboy?

Here I thought we were talking about real women.

Those "nude bits" are artificial because they are made to be so. Every single pubic hair and each nipple is manipulated. If I want to see "nude bits", I look at my naked self in the mirror. That is real. Images of "nude bits" that are combed and hair sprayed to appear 'just so' are not real things.

It is an illusion and you have shown yourself to be the shallow and deluded individual that you are in thinking they are real.

I am not the one posting pornography and saying it is "real". Yes, when she's licking her lips at the camera, it's because she's really turned on and is really thinking of you. How deluded are you?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You might think a posed vagina and combed pubic is beautiful, I just think it looks fake.

And I think the way you are responding in this post and to me makes you look like a retard.

What makes you think that I am sexually repressed or insecure? Because I have asked that you adhere to the rules of this site? Don't like it? Tough titties... pun intended. You can leave.

You are so obsessed with all things nude and fake that you cannot see the sunshine and reality.

It is obvious only to you.

Do you know why? Because you need magazines to tell you what real women look like and what is beautiful, ergo, anyone who tells you differently is obviously "sexually repressed".

There were no implants in any of those women, Bells. That is 100% factual. You needing to claim the opposite, without having any basis whatsoever excepted your own aged eyes, speaks volumes about your attitude toward slim women who possess a figure you could only dream of having. I know why people make statements such as yours, however: they're either repressed, they're embarrassed about their own chunky bodies, they either get no sexual intimacy in their lives, or else the quality of their sexual activities are unfulfilling -- or any number of other psycho-sexual hang-ups. All of those hang-ups... every single one of them... are 100% the result of one or more of the following problems:

Guilt, shame, inhibition, deprivation, embarrassment about their own physiques (inferiority complex), refusal to acknowledge and enjoy their own instinctive animal lust (instead, they condemn it as "dirty"), religious programming (see "shame" and "guilt"), overcompensation for all of the above, in the form of an attitude that claims nudity to be somehow shallow and only skin-deep.

Here is why it affects you: many people who are suffering from any of the above listed psychological faults do not like to know that there are others amongst us who OPENLY enjoy a natural, sexually free lifestyle. That just adds to their inner feelings of deprivation, which further infuriates them. In short -- the more they bitch, the worse their own sex lives probably are and the more in denial they are about it. That is the absolute, actual reason that such nitwits carry on about nudity in the way you are now.

It's jealousy, in other words. The sheer, raw, picayune and petty jealousy of tiny-minded, quasi-celibate wankers. And everyone who is affected by that is mentally diseased. If you have any doubt of that, then ask yourself how we've come to live in a society where we shun images of sex and nudity, but allow and exalt images of blood, gore, and violence -- even on this very website. Apparently, the celebration of human flesh is wrong and unacceptable, but the destruction of human flesh is perfectly okay.

In the mean time, imposing your anti-beautiful, anti-sexual, anti-nudity, anti-healthy, anti-slim beliefs through forum moderation the way you are now might make you feel powerful in your otherwise powerless life, but it sure won't help you find anyone special to snuggle up to in your empty bed at night -- except for your tear-stained pillow. What's that, you say..? It's not tear-stained..? Really..? Just give it time, Bells.

I must admit, this is the first time that anyone has ever referred to me as "chunky", and it's someone who has never seen me, does not know me and can only tell if a woman is beautiful if a magazine tells him she is so.

Do I dream of having overly massive boobs and hair spray on my pubic hair? No. That is not real. You may tell yourself it is, but it really is not.

But according to you, because my size 2-4 person is apparently chunky and because I have asked you to adhere to the rules of this site, I am also sexually repressed. It is amazing that I have not joined a convent if your rantings are to be believed.

Unlike you, I get to have sex whenever I want or need to have it. I don't need to look at people's genitals in magazines to have a sexual experience. Unlike you, I have gotten to and get to experience sex with real people. I don't need to look at Playboy or porn to know what amounts to a beautiful body.

    You seem a tad obsessed.

Wait a minute. You post images from Playboy, where the women are made to pose, they are heavily made up to the point where their pubic hair has hair spray on it and you somehow think that it means you "openly enjoy a natural, sexually free lifestyle"?

You are obsessing over this, and believe me, you actually are considering how much time and effort you have made in this post. You need for all of us sexually repressed women to know just how sexually free you are. All while you post images from Playboy, a magazine that reeks of fakeness. The whole premise behind Playboy is fake.. an illusion.

Who am I supposed to be jealous of?

You just sound like you are pining for slimness. I tend to find that it is people who are quite overweight who obsess about weight. And believe me, you are obsessive.

Unlike you, I don't look at a person's weight to determine beauty. If you were to be believed, then the women portrayed in Renoir's 'The Bather's' series of paintings would be deemed ugly, because according to your standards, they are fat. Pudgy and not a size 0 a la Paris Hilton.

You're just angry because I deleted your images as this site's rules demand.

Maybe that is your society, not mine.

If you disagree with the rules of this site, then you are free to PM the owners of this site and demand that you be allowed to post pictures of naked women.

    Anti-slim and anti-healthy?

Don't you get it yet? How people eat and live is really none of my business. If someone is happy within their own skin, then hey, good on them, regardless of their size. You are obsessing about being 'slim'. You remind me of that idiot in the 'Leave Britney Alone' video.

And while you were obsessing and ranting about how sexually repressed we all are and how you are sexually free, I went and put the kids down for a nap, had afternoon nookie with my husband, made a light dinner and here I am back again. And you're still ranting. I find it quite amusing really. Funny thing is, you are so obsessed with telling us how sexually repressed we are and how sexually free you are that we're having sex and you're not having any.

But yeah, you go you sexually free beast! Look at real women instead of actually getting to touch one. You go son!

Me thinks you probably also read Mills and Boon.

i agrree with will. there is too much jealousy going on. i know that i certainly hav never been jealous of anyone because of their appearance.

I posted five short paragraphs. You've posted almost a page in response. Do smarten up.

Nay, what you have revealed yourself to be is a person who (1) believes depictions of nudity are automatically pornography, (2) believes anyone who looks upon such depictions is a porn fanatic, (3) is too ignorant to notice that the original reason that I posted any playboy in this thread was in response to Szyzygys who suggested "I look at playboy for once" to find "real women." It's just too bad that the majority of those "real women" turned out to be a little TOO real for the likes of your chewed bubble gum ass. I am definintely not someone you wish to tangle with, and since you have no reason to, I suggest you simply stay out of it all Bells. So far all you've done is to act like one of the admins' little prostitutes. Do yourself a favor and avoid pestering others. Then you won't have to spend this New Year's crying, drunk, and alone like you did the last time around. Yes, I have ears everywhere. Now shoo.

Thin models are thin for women, not men. Although there are exceptions like WillNever, most men prefer women who look healthy, not emaciated. It makes good sense from an evolutionary point of view. A man (consciously or subconsciously) wants a woman who can carry a child to term and then live long enough to raise it. Until recently, thinness has generally been a sign of ill health.

WillNever mentions art, but one wonders if he has ever looked at old paintings by masters such as Rembrant. Now may be the time to check out a few and recalibrate his sense of what is real.

Oh, and hey Will - tone down the misogynist crap. It's a bad look, ok?
  10. WillNever Valued Senior Member

I am not the source of any misogyny here, James. What we're dealing with is an irrational abhorrence of nudity and/or depictions of nudity. There are only a couple reasons I can think of why that would be, both of them bad:

    (1) Because people like to pretend that they're extremely different from all of the other animals on the Earth. We're not, though.

    (2) Because people are often insecure and don't like to be vulnerable. Sexual intimacy can make you vulnerable -- so it's a bit of an ego issue.

It's funny that you mention that. Here in New York, there's an artist who has created a series of life-sized and religiously-based sculptures out of milk chocolate. The most controversial of his chocolate sculptures is the so-called "Chocolate Jesus." That particular work of art has incited an enormous and rather vitriolic outcry from some very vocal Christians. Now, you may think that their major complaint is that their "savior" is made out of chocolate. That's certainly the excuse that they've been using, in their attempts to supress this unusual work of art. But when you see these loons being interviewed on the TV, do you know what they keep repeating, in almost every single one of their rants..? "His genitals are exposed. That's a slap in the face to Christians everywhere."

In other words, they're the most outraged by the fact that the chocolate sculpture shows that Jesus actually had a penis.

I don't really need to say much more than that. The sick psychology at work there is pretty damned obvious, I should think... and it relates to what we've been discussing in this thread, because it's being exhibited by Bells. "Jesus was the world's most perfect man -- therefore, I do not wish to be reminded that Jesus had a penis. Penises are evil and dirty... especially if they're made out of chocolate..."

That's a wonderful example of just how sick people can become, after centuries of warped and irrational sexual repression. Michelangelo went through similar battles with the Pope, when he painted nudes on the ceiling of the famous Sistine Chapel in Rome. Despite the fact that the Biblical chapter of Genesis states that Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed, the Pope didn't want to see penises on the ceiling of his precious church. Now, am I the only person who thinks this shit is totally insane..? Actually, no.. I'm not the only person. I just may be the only person in this thread.

And you have ranted in this and at least one other thread on the same topic. I would suggest that you smarten up.

Okay, I am going to set it out for you slooowly, because it seems that you have issues comprehending what has been made blatantly obvious to you... repeatedly.

This site has a set of rules by which we must all adhere to if we wish to post here. One such rule is that no pornography is allowed. And yes, Playboy is a porn mag. I'm sure you buy it for the articles, but it is by its own definition, a porn mag.

I don't care for pornography. Instead of watching people have sex, I would rather spend that time with my husband. I'm sure you sit there and glare for hours on end marvelling at the "natural beauty" of the women on there and tell yourself that is what "real women" look like. All well and good for you. We are not you. For all your carrying on about sexual repression, you appear to be the most sexually repressed of all. Instead of having sex, you sit here and rant on and on about how sexually repressed everyone is. Meanwhile, most of us have gone to bed, had sex, etc and you're still ranting. What does that say about you?

You have never seen my backside, so I would suggest you keep your weird fantasies to yourself.

Oh? Is that a threat dear boy? I say boy because the manner in which you post is similar to how 12 year old's fight... eg.. 'you're fat'.. That is your style of debate.

Let me tell you something. You are nothing but a sad little boy with an obsession for thin people, with the false assumption that to be healthy, one has to be skinny and even more astonishingly, you have mistakenly applied your own sad little beliefs to all other men, most of which have rebutted your presumptions. You are simply unable to comprehend that another person's size is really none of your business. You have made ridiculous and childish accusations about my size, when you know nothing about my size or my looks. Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself to imagine that I am somehow fat and ugly. More power to you little man.

No sweetheart. I would say that thus far, you've been my bitch. My little play thing that I can poke a stick at and watch you rant and rave and make an absolute fool of himself.

I don't need to be a moderator for that.

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

    Advice you should take yourself.

A 12 year old boy and delusional at that.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? Why do you feel the need to make up things about others? Does it make you feel better? Does it help build your self esteem?
  12. WillNever Valued Senior Member

In fact I have never purchased such a magazine. Every image that I have posted thus far was taken from a gallery belonging to someone I know. I don't consider it pornography, however. Anyone who knows anything about how that magazine was started, knows it is not pornography.

That's like me saying "instead of actually having sex, all you do is rant on and on about how you *do* have sex. Meanwhile, everyone else is in bed, actually having sex, and performing an activity that 99.99~% of the organisms in the world have done. Except you." It would be mean of me to say that, though.

Bells, I can tell when I get underneath someone's skin, even when that is not my intention. You have reacted with the most urgency, persistence, and stifled emotion than *anyone* who has been conversing with me on the subject so far. You've also come the closest out of anyone to launching a direct insult, which I enjoy from time to time. However, no one else has been inclined to do that. That's how I know you belong to the legions of buffalo out there. I don't need to see your battle-ship sized ass in order to know that.

Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Indeed you do, because the deletion of those images from the sight of everyone else in the thread was fueled by your own insecurity at the issue, Bells. You hated seeing those women. They were much more beautiful than you are. You can be honest about it, at least. If you hadn't been able to do delete them, then you'd be venting like a frustrated 2 year old. Looks like you've done that anyway, though.

    Of course it's not yours.

You might not consider it pornography but the legions of others who complained about it did consider it pornography.

Do you think the magazine is the same as when it started? If you do, then you are more delusional then I gave you credit for.

There is irony in that statement. I shall leave it to your brilliant *cough* mind *cough* to figure out.

Not really. I have not been posting here much of late. Real life takes up my time. I have had a few spare minutes throughout the day today and here I am. Lucky you.

Urgency? Had that been the case, then I would have been sitting here for hours waiting for you to respond. And to be honest with you, I go off and do other stuff, come back, check my emails and voila, I see yet another complaint about you, so I log back in and that has pretty much been the case today.

For someone who has deemed fat people ugly and for someone who keeps telling me that my arse is apparently fat, as is apparently the rest of my body, according to you, you seem to have an unnatural obsession with said arse and body.

You keep bringing it up in each of your posts. Why is that?

The deletion of those images is in accordance with the rules of this site. People had also complained about them. Again, and I keep having to repeat myself on this issue and you just. don't. seem. to. get. it. If you disagree with the rules of this site, then I would suggest you take it up with the owners. I am sure Plazma would love to have your feedback. And if you do not like the rules of this site, I am sure there are others who would welcome you with open arms. Go forth and post the images that apparently belong to 'someone you know'.

    Okay. Whatever you say.

Be honest about what exactly? According to you, my size 2-4 is apparently fat and ugly. So whatever I might say to you about my looks is really going to be a waste of typing, isn't it?

Actually, if I hadn't been a moderator, I probably would not have even looked at this thread. The only reason I looked at this thread was because I received complaints about it. So you can say what you want really. My response will still be the same. If you don't like the rules of this site, then you can leave.

As I read through this thread, I found myself alternating between grinning and grimacing. The first because there's so much silliness present - the second was due to some raw emotions being expressed.

Come off all the insignificant, irrelevant stuff, people! The real truth is that there ARE a number of exceptionally thin people (including runway models) in the world - both women AND men. And they are abnormal. The same is true of excessively overweight people. And all the above are not only abnormal but unhealthy as well.

And it's equally obvious that in between those two extremes are TONS of "normal" "or "average" people - whatever you choose to call them. So just shrug off the whole business (the extremes) as just another form of human aberration. Everyone has their own idea of what they find attractive and unattractive (and that can be based on irrationalities as well as rationalities)
and this is nothing more than another example of that.
  17. Enmos Registered Senior Member

I agree Read. Although, WillNever seems to have a serious obsession going on there.

people should know when they are too thin for their health. a model makes a lot of money (usually) so for a career to be thin is not indicative of a problem. of course if your health is affected and you know it then it is a real problem.
