Why editing takes so long?

When I post it takes less than a sec to appear. When I edit a post and click on Save, it sometimes takes 10+ secs to appear.

How come the big difference??

Same in every vbulletin forum I've been to

 

maybe the time difference between saving to the server versus retrieving and saving

 

The time delay is caused by an Anti-Flooding measure. Otherwise somebody with a malicious intent could probably bring the forums to a hault by scripting a nasty little hack just to keep edit/saving and consume all the CPU time up.

 

If only people had an Anti-Flooding measure in Noahs time.
