So what was the first (cause) that started every thing?

why did you jsut mention god in my threads, i hate when people do that, show some class please.

i asked why because cause and effect requie a "why". if something happans its because something made it happen,

i dont think "nothing" exists and im pretty sure i never did, are you going to not attempt answering the answer aswel?

if your not going to atleast try then its worthless.

    peace.

there couldent have been a start if we agree with cause and effect. because it was eternal it always existed.

wich people find hard to grasp.

    peace.

It sounds like you have a problem. Good luck with that.

Like "Why is the sky blue?". That's no difference than "How is the sky blue?". You asked a 'how' question and a 'why' question back to back. The questions were the same unless one was a question of intent, but it looks like you were just being redundant.

I think the point was missed. If 'nothing' does not exist then there is no 'how' to bring about existence. Reality may support cause and effect, but reality itself doesn't appear to be caused.

If this doesnt make sense then let me try another way. The answer to your question is "because the magical purple apocolyptic pumpkin-eating ponies of the Zaboombafoo dimension willed it to be so".

It would seem more logical that nothing existed instead of something, but you have to understand that nothing is also something (and something is nothing). Just like darkness needs light, nothingness needs a universe.

Reality is an infinite nothing where consciousness (duality of nothing and its infinity) is born. That consciousness dreams so long that it forgets that nothing exists.

You can say that the universe has never existed, that it has always existed, or that it only exists now.

The universe is 1 which becomes 0 if you divide it with infinity.
Nothingness is 0 which becomes 1 when you divide it with infinity.

if its infinite and cause and effect are law, then there was no start or first cause.

the reason nothing is logical is that there's no reason for anything else to exist.

if you want to make "something" sound logical, you have to explain what "something" is, otherwise it's just an empty word. but when you think about it, what could "something" be other than just a word, emptiness, nothing?

right now has no duration, so there's no time for anything to exist.

you can use a normal calculator to realize that 1 divided by infinity is 0, and you have to use logic to realize that if it works one way it works the other way.

for example: if nothing is something, something is nothing. makes sense right?

If you agree that time is a dimension, and that time ones started, the beginning must have been the lack of length. 0 doesn't cut it, it is compareable. If all dimensions that something move along are alike, all dimensions began with a limit. Again, 0 wouldn't cut it, since with that length on all dimensions it would still be a length. If the universe was to decay, every length would add to another length, if they were all 0, the universe would have started with one planck length in every direction (0) and continued with 2*0 etc. So it isn't true, they started with limits, then after one planck length, they all got the smallest size possible, and since then the dimensions have decayed into fewer and larger dimensions.

    Comparable to what?

    A limit?
What sort of limit, and why?

What are you adding to length?

    Why?

    If what were all 0?
Are you under the under the impression that a Planck length is zero?
    If so why?
And if not what DO you mean?

Examples of more, smaller dimensions would be...?

    Comparable to what?

if all lengths were zero and decayed into eachother so that time can continue passing, then all lengths would continously be a multiple to zero, and compareable to a 0 length. 0 would then be the smallest length, but the universe's time couldn't have begun at the smallest length which is a planck length, and hence time began at a limit, there was no time.

    Gone mostly, decayed into limits.

    If all lengths were zero?
    Decayed into each other?
    0, by definition, isn't a length...

    So you're speculating?

    "0 by definition isn't a length"

unless you compare it to x*0, and never do the multiplication.

    Why does anything exist?
    You mean why SOMETHING exist?

    Because we can experience it.

Take for instance God. Let's say He DOES exist. But we CANNOT detect Him. Does He really exist?

Anything multiplied by zero is zero.

There is no indication that there is a reason/cause.

That would be a logical conclusion. Of course it assumes time isn't illusionary. We could live in a universe where every possible state of matter exists simultaneously. What you think is 'now' is really just a state of matter that always thinks its 'now'. +/- million states results in another you perceiving 'now'. 'Passage of time' would be an illusion because each state that you are a part of has information encoded (in your brain) concerning other states.

Cause an effect is evidence of change.
