Ok. So I was looking at some porn earlier and I though, "Surely there is an evolutionary reason why most guys like porn." Heres the thought. I read one time that one of the reasons to explain why guys get sleepy after sex is that it leaves the woman free to go out and mate again. So, suppose there's a bunch of prehistoric humans hanging around and a female is ready to mate. Well, she strolls up to a group of guys and mates with the first one who she finds fit. They finish, and the male falls asleep. The other males, being aroused by the preformance, each mate with the female. This ensures that every female will be mated multiple times, giving higher and higher probabilities of conception. Does anyone know if this is reasonable at all? I am no biologist, so I am in no real position to debate---just a though.
Because they aren't getting laid, are too tired/inadequate for real sex or have no idea what to do with a woman in bed.

I mean, to me there is a difference between looking at a naked woman, or a hottie walking past me in a bar, and looking at two people getting it on. Am I alone here?
Because most females that I have been involved with have wanted to control what I did with my dick, and their idea of "control" meant that I didn't use it for any reason. Females who had no intention of ever letting me have sex with them would play games to make sure that they had some kind of say about my sexuality. I think it is probably more likely that males become quite aroused by sex, and the sexual climax also releases particular chemicals into the brain which, as well as giving an intense feeling of pleasure, also cause sleepiness as a side effect. You may have noticed that human females are quite picky as to who they mate with, so sleepiness of males being so that the female can immediately go off and have sex with a different male is highly implausible.
I'm not sure if this is a joke question or serious. Why do humans like food? Why do cats chase mice? Why do dogs chase cats? Why do fish swim up stream? Guys like porn because women are beautiful. There I answered it.
Be serious, sure most guys who don't get laid watch porn, but couples watch porn too. As far as not knowing what to do with a woman in bed, isn't it the womans job to tell him what she likes in bed? Or do you expect every man to be a well trained prostitute? You'd think if two people are a couple they'd at least know the sexual likes and dislikes. Knowing this is basic, like knowing a persons favorite foods, or pet peeves. Porn will teach a guy absolutely nothing about his woman, however if they both share a fantasy, porn can show them how to properly play it out.

Quite serious. I like sex. Yes. But I was wondering why guys like porn---that is, watching other people have sex. I like to eat, but I won't pay $30 a month to watch someone else eat at a fancy resturaunt. Fair enough---I wasn't sure that that was what I had read. Is the release of these chemicals (seretonin, right?) generally accompanied by drowsiness? The pickiness seems to be a cultural rather than a social thing---that is, the characteristics that women find attractive in men vary more widely than the characteristics that men find attractive in women. Does this make sense? This seems to be a function of culture.
Good point. Porn is safer than having sex with a random woman every month thats one reason. I'm not saying porn is better, but you have to really select carefully who to have sex with. Porn on the other hand, you don't have to be so precise. But you also are not being innovative, you and your female friend can watch porn together and end up having sex. Porn can be exhanged with females, females watch porn too, and females are just as perverted and sex crazed as males. Talk to more females and find out for yourself. The whole "I don't like sex" thing females do is just an act. Females actually enjoy sex more than males do, and have multiple orgasms at a time. Thats not true. Those are generalities which don't matter, it's just cultural attitudes.

Because women in porno's speak to the camera, ergo to the male watcher, who then pictures themselves with her instead of the male actor.
