Ooh. A thread about me! Look. As I've said before, the mods of a specific forum reserve the right to delete overly repetitive threads. It's not that I object to the criticism of the USA (um... 'cause if I did, I'm doing a pretty shitty job of shutting them down). It's just that it's pretty much the same thing under a new title, "The USA is evil/sucks/is an imperialist oppressor/is a terrorist state/isn't free/is funding Israel/etc." I've also stated that the USA deserves much of the criticism. In cases where I think a person is overly soap-boxing, I just delete the thread, especially if the matter has basically been said before. This isn't all that different than the merging and deleting of the 1,000,001 threads on the evils of Islam. Whether true or not, it just is unnecessary to have so many of them. In most cases, however, I try to merge them into one thread. Sometimes the merging gets botched up and I create a frankenthread, but most of the time I'm able to tidy up the forum without getting rid of the few good noodles out there. Lastly, to address Brian's worry that I'd delete "everything he types." 1) that was directly in response to Brian's caterwauling about getting banned for calling everybody and anybody names. I don't need to spell out how often this has become an issue on this website because of all the complaints that have come in because of that behavior and 2) just look at all the posts of Brian's that have gone untouched vs. all those that have been moderated. What's the ratio? Probably about 300-to-1 right about now. I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of Brian's posts will flutter-about unscathed by my iron fist. ~String
