That's what I think he fails to understand. If the distance is infinite, and he's working in miles then his points are infinite miles apart. Since I prefer metric units then I'll be working on infinity x 1609.344. Doesn't compute...
So you guys are still stuck on this? The way I see it if both speed and distance are infinte, time would stand still, i.e. equal zero. (hypothesis based on complete ignorance of physics or math). If we could solve this we might come up with the insta-transporter. What do you think?
Stuck? we're guys. We don't get stuck, we just consider all the ramifications. Solving the maths is one thing. Applying them is a whole other thing. How de we handle rotational velocity differences? Will there be problems if target and source are at different elevations (potential energy differences could be sufficient to vapourise whoever's being transported)? Nah. I think we've made the conclusion that TS is asking the question "incorrectly" it's the terminology and the underlying assumption that's at fault.
Why not just add another rocket to the back of your car and take some of the older CDs out of the glove compartment? This will allow you to travel faster than infinite.
Oh, yeah, sure. Now that I've commented about it, you guys stop posting so much. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
