War is usually purchased with borrowed money...and paid off with debased money.

Traditionally, the bankers of europe would play off two sides against each other, making money regardless of who wins.

Gotcha. According to the American Friends Service Committee, the Iraq war is costing $500,000 a minute or $720 million a day. Who is picking up this tab?

Even if the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan end, America will remain in the business of slaughtering Arabs in Palestine for many years to come...through the miracle of massive arms sales.

For the simple reason that it is politically desirable to fulfill the prophesies upheld by the Christian right towards re-establishing Israel.

Oh stfu u moron, The US uses considerably greater restraint when it comes to arms sales, than those corrupted third world, anti progress, pedophelia, rascist, terrorist, pathetic, 40% literacy, uneducated, plots of lands that you guys have the audacity of calling civilized societies. Unlike the Russians, the US does not simply hand out every weapon in it's inventory. anything that is sold by the US has typically been in service for several years.

Are you people forgetting what kind of eastern nations were talking about? They think that a father raping an 8 year old is okay, they don't even have democratic elections, not even running water in most cases let alone electricity, they slaughter their brothers because of the fact that they disagree with one little part of their common beliefs, they target woman and children, have no honor, no education at all. these are hardly countries, stop making them sound like superpowers.

There's about a 15 percent tax average on everyone through the income tax but another 5 percent from other Federal taxes.

The American government has been bleeding red ink for over 40 years now.

It will take over 50 years to pay down the debt America owes. That's if no more debt is aded but we all know there's more debt coming.

not true. It depends on what kind of increments the US government decides to pay it. We could pay it all in one year using a massive portion of the 14.3 trillion dollar gdp, but we all know what a massive problem that will have. But your right cosmic, paying it in 50 years would be the best decision because than there wont be such a high fallout from lack of money.

If its only 50 years thats not too bad. Debt can be a stimulus for growth. Americans will just have to restrain their credit debts.
