The King of all cop outs, and the original fraud!
Why are you afraid to undertake a debate governed by the usual rules.
I'll disqualify myself right now if you like.
I'll even nominate three reasonably unbiased judges which I don't believe anyone could argue against.
    James and Bell and rpenner.
Now come on MR, put your money where your gob is. Don't slink away feeling victimised again. Here's your chance to prove whatever it is you are trying to prove.
Take the challenge. Show us what you are made of!

Then don't make a claim about someone at all. You don't have to talk bad about how I am or how anyone is. Discuss the topic, not the person. Do you understand that that is trolling and flaming, which is in violation of Sci Forums rules?

You make claims about science, claiming it is not and has never been beneficial to mankind.Fact:
You make that claim purposely to flame and create angst.Fact:
I understand that you have flamed, baited and trolled on this forum since I started. Fact:
Now are you big enough for the debate challenge?

Support your claim with quotes then. I'll wait.

To quote your own words again, I'm not going searching for something you said more than once in a particular thread.
Now again, are you up for the challenge?

Then don't make a claim you can't support. It's that simple..

Anyone that claims science does not or has never benefited mankind, is either a gross intellectually dishonest person or a raving nut.

Then post about it in the proper forum. MR has his own issues. Why are you acting out in this manner?

If you think your so much better than that, then act like it.

I'm not the one starting threads with the intent of singling out and ridiculing a member I have a personality clash with. Axe to grind indeed. As for the fraud allegation, I look forward to evidence to substantiate that claim.

    Oh my.
It appears that the entire point slid quickly and quietly over your head.
Never mind, I'm sure you'll find someone to explain it to you.

    *you're*.

Actually it didn't (happy now). I found it to be a repeat of the complaint and not worth addressing again. Basically, I thought your comment childish and immature and tried to point you to the proper forum for your assertions (because you were behaving like MR by choice). I don't expect MR to understand the difference but Clearly You Do and is exactly what the OP was allegedly about. Though through a muddied recollection of reality (see Bells history post).

The Fringe aspect of this website has always existed in one form or another and if you recall history in a different way, well then your memory is suspect also.

And you (for your own well-being) may want to focus on that rather than Ghosts and UFOs and the people who wonder/believe these things.

    Uh, yes you did:

The fact that you didn't see WHY I made those assertions HERE (and, in particular, in direct response to the post I quoted) is a solid indicator that the point did go over your head.

And the fact that also post this - as if it were relevant to what I wrote - is another indicator.

Yeah, obviously you've not bothered reading through the thread...

    Well-being?
    WTF?

I find it odd you keep harping on me about somehow being stuck on the subject matter, when you have just openly said that the subject is the problem... regardless of what is being discussed, good standards of evidence and, at the very least conduct, shouldn't change.

It is an amusing, if tired, double standard.

No - belief has nothing to do with it. The principles of scientific study have proven themselves time and again to be an effective method of study;they specifically work to eliminate preconceived beliefsbecause of the bias they cause. Simply put, a belief in something is worthless in scientific terms - what matters is evidence and eventually duplication of consistent results.

Nobody, and the fact that content like his dominates the forum is indeed why my participation here is so limited.
Kind of, yes. Part of the reason, expressed by leadership in the past, is an unwillingness to ban people who are responsible for such a high fraction of the forum's content. They're throwing the baby out with the bath water.
It doesn't sound like you know what trolling is. The goal of trolling is to goad people into responding, not to get people to ignore you.

Which does make the argument for treating MR like Victor Esperenza all the more compelling - give him his own thread, confine the nonsense to there, and simply let him talk to himself.

I like to think, however, that some interesting conversation COULD be had with him, if only he'd follow an equal standard.

F*ckwt... Reminds me of AOL chats. I tend to stop reading a post like that simply because I assume its a 15 year old. Its just an autopilot thing with me now.

So Nope, I didnt see your post (#3) which made post #120 my first reading of your input.

How is this any different than what my OP quote was responding to? Posts in the Fringe area ISNT about science and Does not need 'scientific scrutiny'. Both of your sarcastic examples end with no obvious negative impact on anyones life. Harmless belief relegated to a forum called "on the fringe". And you propose the same thing as the other defenders of scientific scrutiny... Shut it down! ..F*ckwits..

Do you think I found the trolling for beeleevers to be engaging reading back then when you could call a f*ckwit a f*ckwit? Why was the fringe split out from the sciences? Apparently it was the defenders of science clamoring for separation. Isnt that good enough? Now you dont have to deal with it unless You choose to.

Yes I have seen people wanting their own threads shut down (not sure if its MR), but how is the defenders of science clamoring for the same thing Not Childish and Immature? How is it not exactly the same thing as the bible thumpers demanding atheist chats be shut down (as happened on go.com and other spots) a reasonable position?

I've seen in other forums a software feature that essentially hides their posts from everyone but themselves. Eventually, they get frustrated that nobody is taking the bait and leave.
I guess faith in humanity is nice, but MR has made it quite clear that he is uninterested in any standards/rules.
