    Well..I dont recommend pirating (no sane person would ADMIT to recommending it) but if you did, you are correct you cannot do system updates. But something you must know is that most "critical" system updates are just that...they'll make your system critical. Most updates do MORE harm than good from Microsoft. However, when a good update does come along, usually someone hacks it, and packages it to install on pirated copies, so I've heard.

    gots osx on my powerbook and the family imac, running 98 and BeOS on the computer sitting on the floor kept only for 3 player starcraft. Had XP on there too, but ewwww, so slow...so I trashed it to get more space and now half my hardrive just isn't there...oh and I got XP on here that can run under virtual PC

    i would go to xp but it's a resource hog. as for win update i think only xp is checked and if there are more than like 10 comp with the same xp s\n the server deletes it and won't let you update.
