Balut is a fully developed but unhatched bird embryo that is boiled. It's a popular food in asia. Kind of like chicken, kind of like eggs...

I believe "in what context" has been ignored. I don't believe in intrinsic value.

Do you eat bones with your balut?

    The bones are left in.

Generally, the egg is more important than the chicken, since it represents a more primitive single cell. The embryo is the beginning of all higher animals.

The egg is more important. The egg, if fertilized, will eventually become a chicken. No matter how long you wait a chicken will never become an egg.

I see the egg as the future generation of chickens, so definitely the egg.

egg is only a future generation of one chicken ... and a lot of eggs don't hatch.

Meanwhile chicken give birth to eggs...many eggs...more probability of future generations. Of course the problem here is...not all chicken give birth.

Na, I see the chicken producing more eggs in the long run. But to hell with it, I hate eggs!
