Where will it all end, beyond computers and biological life?

One can appreciate technology is advancing at an alarming rate, can anyone comprehend where it will all end? After biological life there must evolve a new artificial intelligence, maybe this intelligence will possess more senses then a biological life form, maybe it’ll be able to travel without actually travelling the distance? Just what would be capable bearing in mind we don’t want to defy the universal laws of physics.

I don't believe what you think is going to happen, is going to happen. What do you base your assumption upon?

of course there are no guaranteed stamps to assure anyone existing in this time that an advanced future time will invariably be inevitable, however if the human race does survive why shouldn't it advance in technology in the same way it always has?

It is rather possible that this thread’s topic may be clearer in the informational concept –
    See: arXiv.org/abs/0812.2819
    And arXiv.org/abs/physics/0703043
In last link it can be read only first sections, up to physics model, – last iteration of the model is in the first arXiv link.

If briefly – our Universe is a very small subset of utmost fundamental and infinite Set "Information". At that the Matter which constitute the Universe is also subset in the Set, let – M-subset; when consciousness (human’s, religious beings, etc.) exists in another Set’s subset, let – C-subset. So there can not be real such a phenomena as "artificial intelligence" – if it is based on some material (M-subset's) things then it never will go out the M-subset. And it seems that only a development of the consciousness will let it to walk about the Set as a whole, rather far away from it’s "Matter" place…

    Cheers

isn't human life a mere biological machine?

No, it isn’t machine (as well as human’s brain isn’t a computer). Any computer never goes out the Gedel’s limits, when human’s consciousness sometimes makes such a acts – e.g. – creates new systems of axioms to obtain new theories.

Humans have not always advanced in technology.
