    Abuse of statistics. The exact same argument could have been made when the population of humans was one and it would have been equally as empty.

    The reality is that we don't know the shape of the distribution so we can't even attempt to play such odds. And even if we knew it, we still wouldn't want to play the odds, we'd want to investigate every possibility starting with the easiest to detect, not the most likely to exist.

    Mathematics , statistics can be a stretch at times . This is one of those times .

    What are the statistics that statistics theory can be stretched to the point of being irrelevant?
