When I was a kid - imagined

    In what may be one of many humbling retrospections for my rationalistic mind, I remember that I never once fathomed the world to be a circle, a globe, or anything like that. I don't remember what I did think it was but. I do remember seeing all the airplanes going to places like America and imagining that America and Europe were lands in the sky.

    When I was a kid I thought that scientists looking for intelligent life beyond earth were limiting their scope too much. I thought that aliens could live on the sun (amount other extreme places) and that somehow they could have bodies and organs that would be so unlike our own that they would be able to survive in that environment. I also thought that they could possibly be invisible and that scientists were being too closed minded when they say that life had to be like us in certain ways.
