I tend to think if the music is in you, then plugging your ears will just force it out another sense. At least if you go deaf you should give your brain some time to adjust.
The beauty of music is that it cannot be taken away from you. You don't need physiologically functioning ears to hear music, nor audio players or instruments.
Q: What's worse than death? A: Having to sit in an office listening to someone explain how the tax system works for all eternity, whilst an off key orchestra of 11 years olds plays “It’s A Small World After All.” In the background over and over again on recorders!
