What was the Carrington Event?

    I found the following quite an interesting article and illustrating just how fragile our planet is, and how still in reality, we are at the mercy of astronomical, and cosmological events. eg: While we would certainly know of any potential catastrophic asteroid or meteoroid event, whether such could be avoided is another matter.............................

    Nice post. Thanks.

    I live at the edge of a nature preserve, with cougars and coyotes, ravens and raccoons, buntings and buzzards. I'm as happy as I can be, even if the gods take my 'net from me..
