What time period would you most want to visit?

An obvious companion thread to Norsefire's thread about what time period would you rather live in. I made this thread because, although I would prefer to live in this time period because of the health benefits, I definitely would enjoy visiting the past. Only one rule, changing the past can't be part of the reason you would want to visit there. For example, traveling right before Einstein published some major paper you publish the same paper. I didn't include a poll because there are way too many choices. For me, I would choose the time of Christ so I could see if he really existed.

This is your post, I was only replying to it as it was stated. Nothing about what you have now asked was considered in the first post. You asked what time period IF I could go back not if I went back would a certain time period allow me there.

The Gay Nineties, that is, the eighteen-nineties (before the word gay carried a different connotation). I think it would be really fun to visit eighteen-nineties America under William McKinley, just as the country was emerging as a world power. The music was awesome (ragtime), immigrants were flowing into the country like crazy (that'd be so cool to meet so many people from all different countries with different languages and customs and traditions), the politics were great (McKinley and Roosevelt), and patriotism was strong (Spanish-American War). It's be a really exciting time, I think.

 

You said that you wanted to go back to see what really happened, I'm not too sure if just by watching the Big Bang you could see what really happened.

 

The Crusades, the Civil War, and the time of Christ

 

I would like to visit the time of the Egyptian kingdoms. It would be nice to see how the pyramids were actually built, as well as understand the 'scientific' culture of that era. If any anomolies exist as to 'alien visitation', this is the most likely place to find them...

 

I want to visit the future.

I could come back to the present with all kinds of futuristic gizmos, and be the envy of all my friends.
