Most engineers (some good mathematicians, physicists etc) will have at least 140 to pass the college. Here in sciforums, most of the members would have higher than 100, more like 130 or so as average. The designer of iPhone would have at 175+ If you have 15 point differential between two parties, communication is difficult.
Nowhere near in my experience. Buckling down and hard graft gets a lot of very definitely sub-140 guys through engineering...
I have actually taken a few tests and have received an average of 139. I do think it's possible for the results to be accurate because even though some people's morals and what not are borderline insane(Kadark), they still seem pretty smart imo.
Less than 80? Isn't that around (clinical) moron level? If it helps I know (loads of) guys that are sub 150 and I have extreme difficulty in serious communication at my level. That is why there is this word called "Most" that makes it a Bell curve....albeit skewed....Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Probably, one of them does have Down's syyndrome. I know people who are below my IQ that are difficult to communicate with as well, but it does not seem to be especially so. In fact it is some of the people who I imagine have a high IQ who I find hardest to communicate with, as they seem to be less social. I am open to the idea that my experiences could be very different to the norm.
No, the reason I think the 140 is bs is because that's around genius level. Last I checked, there's few geniuses here.
If you could read and/ or understand what you read you'd know that I was referring to the guys that Steve100 knows.... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Based on what? I'd say it was more than likely - the outliers as opposed to the "average" person make the first moves...
Based on the fact it's the most common quotient, genius. First 'moves'? Are you one of these 'outliers', ostracized by society for having a huge brain?
The numbers were already explained... Also I would hazard that this forum, by definition, attracts the right-hand end of the curve. Please do try to think. It's an idiomatic expression, I could reduce it to monosyllabic words for you. You mean you haven't worked it out? Of course I am.
