Agreed. I think the correct strategy is to wall Iran off from the civilized world, jam all communications and travel between them and the outside world, cut their resource supply down to nil, and if they're such glorious divine rulers, their regime should have more success running a nation without tampering and involvement from foreign infidels. Any countries that wanna join them, they can get behind the wall too and go with them all the way back to the bronze age. No more hand-me-downs, no more Iranian nuke scientists coming to the West for top-class educations.

Iran could fix this overnight by opening their nuclear facilities to inspection. If not, we have every right to suspect them, the talk about some fairy/Mehdi coming down from the sky to save them if only they just launch some nukes at Israel first, it's called psychotic brainwashed delusion. Would you trust a known schizophrenic with a knife? I wouldn't kill that schizophrenic, but I'd still have them in a padded room, which is where all the violent mullahs and Ayatollahs should be.

My biggest issue is with how you like to compare America's ills to Iran. Where's Iran's WikiLeaks, eh? Where are those protests marches against the Iranian regime at Revolution Square? You're comparing a nice guy (America) on PCP to a psychopath (Iran) on tranquilizers. All I can say is thank goodness Iran is too backward and stupid to build quality weapons the way Hitler did, because if they had that ability, humans would already be extinct.

P.S. if WikiLeaks is to be believed, Iran played a major role in making sure the war in Iraq extended as long as it did. Sending bombs to Al Qaeda which usually end up killing innocent Iraqi civilians/giving Americans a reason to stay and fight, yeah that's real classy of Iran, blame it all on the US.

Why not? You trust a nation that has killed more than 20 million people and used nuclear weapons against civilians

Over the last decade, more Iraqis have died at the hands of fellow Muslims than died at the hands of Americans. You must be blaming so many millions of deaths on non-Muslims because the AK-47 is an atheist invention. Well, if we invent something and a chimpanzee uses it to kill, blame the chimpanzee and whoever gave them the gun.

More Americans are killed by other Americans than by Iraqis or by Afghanis too. So what are Canadians doing in these countries? Objecting to Iraq not opening up for inspections? Why not persuade the Americans to do so first? Objecting to Afghans being oppressed? There's 100 countries waiting for you to recognise their plight at your ally's hands.

Or are you the chimpanzee?

We're not in Iraq. We're in the balkans protecting Muslims from Christians and Christians from Muslims, we're also in a few other UN peacekeeping forces, and we're in Afghanistan. America would have probably left Iraq almost immediately if Iraq's neighbours weren't supplying weapons to insurgents who find it easier to kill than to run an election campaign or referendum on America's presence. Iran gave them an excuse to stay, so don't tell me Iran was upset with America's presence there, they needed a scapegoat for the mess at home.

We did try to persuade the US to go with the sanctions/inspections/isolation approach. Now they're eating a huge slice of humble pie.

We have lots of chimpanzees amongst the honourable soldiers in our armies, which is one of the main reasons why we're reluctant to go to war unless we feel there's no other choice. IMO our biggest mistake was to treat Afghanistan as the primary target instead of Pakistan, we should have carried through with the "full cooperation or we bomb" thing Musharraf was talking about.

My main point is that you blame America for 20 million Muslim deaths. Israel over the last 60 years has killed a few tens of thousands (including all the Arab troops killed in mutually-declared wars), America maybe a couple million at most with the Iraq bombings. The rest, you have no one to blame but yourselves.

I didn't even know that Canada had any foreign policy problems with Pakistan. Unless this is still the chimpanzee speaking

We have major foreign policy problems with them, it just goes on backdoors. Notice we weren't exactly dashing to their aid when they had their recent floods.

Edit: Most of the recent terror scares here seem very closely connected to Pakistan as well. Thankfully, we haven't let the BS spread to the point where the bombs were going off like in London and Mumbai. I've said many times I'm getting fed up with Pakistan, and the multitudes of hypocritical drug addicts and troublemakers they send over here give the rest a very bad rap.

No one was happy about the election in Afghanistan. We know Afghanistan is corrupt, we know if they ruled the entire region, it would be a cesspool of corruption. We know if Iran ruled the entire region, it would be a violent oppressive theocratic dictatorship. Iran speaks openly about destroying our allies. Israel is a far more fair democracy than either of those countries.

No its simple really. Unclench the fist, stop with all the aggressive rhetoric, unreasonable and hypocritical demands and work on establishing a level of trust via ongoing dialogue in order to form a mutually respectful relationship. This may involve chastising and punishing Israel for its criminal actions. So dont hold your breath. :m:
They seem to be assassinated as fast as they come out of university. These are the actions of civilized (non bronze age) nations no?
Apart from the fact that they are open and being inspected, (no missing fuel) if one was to demand this of Iran, one would have to also demand the same of Israel, the US, India and Pakistan. So uhm, why is this so one sided?
The only known and documented schizophrenics in this situation are the nations that invade others on proven false pretenses, and imprison, torture and starve innocent civilians. :m:
The power of media disinformation in real time. Nice guy? Senior US officials are calling for assassinations. The ex President has just publicly admitted to committing torture. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis lie dead. Millions more are ravaged by radiation. Afghanistan is burning, Pakistan is on the verge of chaos. Yemens sovereign rights are being violated. I think you are confusing who the psychopath is friend.
Why exactly do you think this? Believe me, Iran has quality weapons, they just have the intelligence to understand defense as opposed to offense.
The US illegally invaded Iraq. Everything else is after the fact. Remove the cause and you remove the symptoms. Except its too late now. :m:

I expect you are talking about those that are not citizens of Israel.

Actually we are speaking of those under Israeli occupation on their own homeland. Citizenship of occupied indigenous peoples has always been a contentious issue under all forms of colonialism.

Has anybody come up with anything "worse" that this Iranian regime did to another nation than support for Hezbollah and Hamas yet?

Has anybody mentioned Iran's sponsoring the War against the Taliban yet? The Taliban was the government of most of Afghanistan and was the government most harmed by Iran
