That was time when actors actually had to be good actors, and not souped up with electronic digitizers and such crap ...including monsterous film-effects just to make the movies interesting.

and madacaascar is one of the most funniest movies (cartoon) that i have ever seen... which i have seen like amillion times

Dark City.

One of my favs. I guess it was because it's a movie that's dark and there's no sunlight whatever until the end. A movie that takes place only a night gives it a strange feel. Plus, it was very creatively done. The whole thing with the aliens using corpses for vessels... and controlling experimental environments through a telepathic communications with machines. It had a 50's type set. Everything came together to create a whole new surreal world you could almost feel yourself in. You just have to see it to believe it.

 

GATTACA, one of them. I just watched it and it reminded me how much I loved it.
