Circa 1943-1947 (& probably earlier), radio weather reports included Wet & Dry Bulb temperatures instead of humidity.

Such data indicated humidity, but provided me with information unavailable via humidity.

I went to a boarding school for grades 9-12 & had an illegal (at that school) radio. The wet bulb temperature told me how cold my head would be on the way from the dormitory to the dining room. An unintended consequence in the change in weather reports.

Russ: Sorry, I forgot to mention that I took a shower every morning & had hair that was a bit wet when I left the dorm.

Kittamaru: My Post was intended ti indicate that providing humidity data in the modern fashion resulted in its lacking possibly important information, an unintended consequence.
