We need a mod assigned to "About the Members"

There is no mod designated to the "About the Members" subforum. You wouldn't think you would need one, but lately things have been getting pretty heated in there.

I would like to volunteer for this duty. I have modded on many different boards. I have an even temperament, and am very slow to anger. This position would not require extensive scientific knowledge, (which I don't have) but would require someone with a lot of patience. (which I do have)

Just a thought....maybe it's a terrible idea.

I believe that -1 was posted first by redarmy to count him out of this moderator business...meanwhile the later post of "-11" is just a silly way to join in with the conversation by copying post of redarmy and adding same value to it for no reason but to make people wonder for what reason. shichimenshyo is trying to obfuscate us...assuming a role of a trickster.

My -1 was a vote for MacGyver. Or rather a non-vote. Or rather a vote for not MacGyver. No need to 'count myself out' of the moderator business. Thankfully, it's opt in, not opt out - which saves me one hell of a lot of voting.

Otherwise a brilliant analysis.

 

In the above case...shichimenshyo is trying to gain popular acceptance to his charismatic persona by utilizing the words "dare" and "sir" and thus invoking an image of a respectable gentleman.
