On Sunday Obama will be at risk of being in violation of The U.S. Constitution as well as the War Powers Act for his continued aggression against the people of Libya. His argument is that because there are no boots on the ground... it's OK to step over the People and ignore The US Congress. He's a Warmonger no different than any of them. No respect for our tradition of shared government. Libya is NOT an imminent threat to the USA. Either is Yemen. This is therefor just an exercise in setting precedent. Accumulation of power into the office of the President. A Big Thanks out to Obama! You didn't go after Bush and Cheney. Hell, it's like you set out to show them how to do it. As soon as Bush&Co. were out of the way you were on your knees servicing. I'm starting to see why they call them GoldmanSux and BP Morgan - sadly, you're the one doing the deed. Now you're trampling over the US Constitution and aggregating more power into the hands of one branch of government. You're as pathetic and incompetent as that f*ckface Junior. Thanks for Nothing you f*cking Asshole.
Aggression against the people of Libya? Are you nuts? Imminent threat is not the benchmark for justified military action. We do have an obligation by treaty to participate in NATO, and this is a NATO action. Obama never pretended to be a pacifist. Are you a pacifist? The Korean war was also undeclared, so this is hardly a precedent.
It's pretty funny though. CMON COUNCIL OF JUSTICE AND FAIRNESS AND DEMOCRACY FOR THE WORLD! LETS GO SAVE THE LIBYANS!!! Hmmm... hold on... took us months to make any announcement about the Egypt uprisings, we really did nothing to help over there.... Bahrain also, we've been trying to make that go away... don't you think bringing all our guns to Libya will look a little... I don't know...how do I put it... opportunistic? Well, yes, but they have oil there, it's worth the risk. Signed Signed Signed LETS GO ARRRRRARRARR
You r a n g ? There's a remote chance that sometime in the next two decades, they might be an imminent threat. Are you willing to live with that, Mr. Damocles? By the way, for your safety, I'm going to ban all green leafy products until we've been able to spray Corexit 666 on them. Gosh darn it, you're welcome, Michael! Just serving the people... Corporations are people, too you know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate_personhood_debate You're not marveling at my achievement? I am proving that a black man can do anything Bush did. The race barrier has been broken! Nothing? We were doing so good up to this point. I've done many things for this country. Hold on... I'll get back to you on what we've achieved in a minute... gotta find my teleprompter.
Oil does make it a country of strategic importance. And Gaddafi is a terrorist supporting asshole who lost his chance to reform. Your support of a dictator is false humanitarianism.
Interesting in that America exports about as much oil as Libya produces so all it needs to do is stop exporting what it is already selling all over the world.
Oil sure does! It also makes leaders of countries who are not willing to dispense it into the G8's reserves terrorist supporting assholes. Magic substance. BTW I support no one.
If you are against the effort to unseat this guy, you are supporting him. There is no way around that. He's a terrorist supporting asshole no matter what he does with his oil.
I forgot, people want to have their cake and eat it too. You want to be able to condemn violence while at the same time being unwilling to do anything about violent injustice. Is that about right?
Nonononoo. Here, cowboy, let me give you an insight into my foreign policy: I find it that my opinion is utterly irrelevant to the people of Libya. I find it that YOUR opinion is utterly irrelevant to the people of Libya. I find it that NATO's opinion is utterly irrelevant to the people of Libya. I find it that the only opinion that is relevant in this case is.... the people of Libya's! Hence I should keep my opinion to myself, you should keep your opinion to yourself, NATO should keep their fucking opinion to their fucking selves. If the people of Libya want this guy out, they will get him out. And don't you fucking tell me that they can't.
I find it surprising that the same people who rallied against Bush and Cheney turn right around and support Obama? Bombing Gaddafi's family home and murdering his grandchildren is criminal. It's that simple. If Obama were Bush/Cheney I am 100% sure you would agree that this is a criminal act. Secondly, GoldmanSux and BJ Morgan were more than happy to support Gaddafi only a month prior. If by support one means invest their money. This war is NOT about Gaddafi's support of terrorists. It's about gaining control over more ME oil resources. Regardless of all of that Obama is acting like a Warmonger and is probably in breach of the US Constitution. I now hope he is impeached.
Who me? I still think Bush and Cheney are incompetent, but I have revised my opinion on the Iraq war. I think it was the right decision, even if the conduct of the war was mismanaged. It's not criminal to kill Gaddafi, he is a mass murderer of peaceful political reformers. If he uses his children as human shields, that is his fault. He doesn't get to hold a country hostage just because he has a kid. Who can't it be both about taking out Gaddafi and the oil? A man like him in control of the oil is a big problem, it gives him the resources to buy weapons and cause all sorts of trouble. Lastly, war is hell but it's often necessary. Civilization is built on brutality.
