But you will never taste her or smell her or feel her breath or the texture of her skin. You will also never know you have given pleasure to a real human being. Plus you wont get to take her to the pub and watch everyone drool over who you are doing.

 

If the hardware can communicate with your brain, I don't see how it can't let us experience the illusion of smelling her and feeling the texture of her skin. Hell, it'll even be adjustable. I don't see how pleasure can't be simulated too.

The nanobots could travel to the specific areas in your brain that control your sensory and emotional functions. Supercomputers could communicate wirelessly with the nanobots in your body. Whenever you wanted to be in the real world the nanobots would remain inactive. When you wanted to be in a virtual reality they could suppress the information from your real senses and replace them with the information from your virtual environment.

 

Hey dont give me a lecture, I am aware of such things. I am also aware that direct stimulation of the brain in such a way as to enduce a whole experience would be a massive undertaking compared to what has been achieved so far with neural implants for instance. If you think that there is going to be a product on the market anytime soon that can give you a whole experience by direct neural stimulation you are seriously retarded. I liken this to the optomists of the 50s who asserted that we would have robots emulating servants in a decade, only for us to have in reality 50 years later, a little tortoise-like hoover that can just about manage to turn when it meets a obsticle.

 

I am hoping that I will be able to connect my brain to a realistic virtual reality before the year 2040. I don’t expect to live much longer than that. Virtual reality is something that I’ve been obsessed with for a long time. I don’t know if I will ever get the chance to experience a realistic virtual reality, but I’m going to do what ever I’m capable of doing to experience it. (Funding scientific research, working with scientists, Ect.)

First, let me thank you for the vote of confidence. It's nice to know people are appreciating the product. You manufacture and ship these things, but rarely hear back from the public unless there is a problem.

Now, as to your specific points:
You're absolutely right. There are few software products out there. It's not from a lack of desire, but from a lack of effort on the part of other vendors, lack of talent, and, frankly, enough hands to get the job done. (No pun intended)
We, (Virtual Reality Innovations) are a small company in Central PA. (Not California) We have always had a policy of willing to work with others. From time to time, we've had game people approach us, and in most cases, it falls through at some point. We do have one guy working on it, but it's slow progress. We're happy to work with anybody that would expand the use of the machine. We designed it with that purpose in mind. Not only to operate with other software, but other peripherals as well. So bring them on!

So far we ARE the closest thing to real sex. With the use of a VR headset, and our machine is compatible with just about ALL of them, you can get the closest thing to the real thing you will ever have today.

I gotta tell you though, hopes for future development are not as bright as one would think. The normal person would think, "gee they ought to be able to come out with anything for sex, people will pay for that!"

And while the web public seems receptive to buy, it's a long road from product idea to product on the street. To put this into perspective, let me hear from each one of you that would be willing to publicly work on a project of this type, and have their family and neighbors know exactly what they do for a living? Anybody?
Now you know what kind of battle people like myself are up against when we try to bring in talent and workers. I even have problems finding people that want to work in our factory. (The Virtual Sex Machine is manufactured in the USA, and carries the "Made in USA" label. )


Believe you me, I want all these same things as well......3D television, VR, The ideas put forth in the movies "Brainstorm," "Logan's Run," and "Strange days," to name just a few.
I'll keep on working on bringing you these products, you just keep buying them.

This product never actually existed. It was an "idea" put out by Vivid, shortly after our product hit the market in June 2000.

 

For those speculating on the possibility of a PS2, 3 etc, or an Xbox Virtual Sex Machine, forget it.
It's highly unlikely it will ever happen.

While we'd be happy to manufacture it, neither Sony, nor Microsoft will allow us to license their technology to put our product (Or other adult products) out for use on their systems.
It's not us, it's them.


Sony's attitude about this is the same reason Beta video failed. They will not allow adult products on their media systems.

 

That's the attitude that is required to move the field forward.
