I am wondering if you guys ever notice vegetables tasting like fish. It is very slight. If you do does this mean the Earth was at one time covered in water? Now I am wondering if it is just me or perhaps psychosomatic. I would have liked to make this a poll because it may prompt member's to be more honest. A simple yes or no poll, but cannot figure it out. I figured out how to make the poll. I already voted.
Absolutely not. And there's no relationship to water on the Earth. (Is this just more of your ToE theory??) Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Oh, and you should see the thread "Fish? No Such Animal" http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?141009-Fish-No-Such-Animal!&highlight=fish and its feature link:http://swimmingunderwaterblog.blogsp...g-as-fish.html You see, like the term' vegetable', 'fish' is such a broad categorization covering such diverse species - is applied to so many sorts of fauna that if you think about it, there really are no such creatures as 'fish'. Yes, it's just like 'vegetables'. What are they exactly? Tomatoes? Where is the scientific kingdom, phylum, class, order or family known as 'vegetable' or for that matter, 'fish'? There are no fish. There are no vegetables. Problem solved.
Thanks for the information and serious responses. The poll (so far) indicates zero members experience this. Have to be brief as I am very pressed for time right now. Kelp? I imagine it must taste very fishy. ToE theory? I am afraid i dont understand what you mean. I dont even know what this means - "And there's no relationship to water on the Earth." But, I am sure the confusion is on my end...although this theory would fit into a planet under water so i think that is what you mean. Thank You Arne for the detailed\scientific responses. Gonna take awhile to digest all that. I thought about that but the places are too numerous to be linked to one place. To give you one example - eggplant. I kind of ruled out cross contamination and thought about scenarios where cross contamination can occur like on a cutting board, veggies cooked in oil that fish was cooked in etc. That is a good observation and i agree with you. I never thought of seaweed, but the taste i am referring to is very subtle. I am going to check on the poll for awhile and see if even one person out there notices it.
I thought you quit 4 months ago.. Well, anyway, lol nevermind Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
vegetables that taste like fish?? the first question I would ask would be to your wife/girlfriend 'what are you using my veggies for??'
Could you be more specific as to: 1. Which varieties of vegetables taste like fish? 2. What is their country of origin? 3. What supplier within that country? Perhaps they are being nourished with fish fertilizer. I have used it for flowers but I would not be interested in using it on vegetables or fruits. scheherazade, fish fertilizer is something i did not think of. I live in the U.S, have no idea as to the supplier. I dont prepare my own food too often, so wherever the "diner" or restaurant gets their veggies from. One thing i did think of was the oil may have been used to cook fish like when i get eggplant, but i noticed this in non fried vegetables too. It's there...just wondering if anyone else noticed...could be me picking this slight fish taste up. We'll have to see what the poll reveals.
