So you think if I publish a cartoon picture of Muhummed I should be punished?

    Really?

    That's the new yardstick?

That if it pisses off Fundamentalist Islamic Terrorists that it's punishable?

    Right.

    Got it

    This is just BS politics.

If your assertion were true, then these people would be punished.

Yes, and it seems that no-one over the rank of Staff Sergeant ever knows or approves of these crimes.
It is always goons like these four that get the prison sentences.

When the higher ranks say that they didn't know, the answer should be:
"Well, it was your damn business to know"

This tired old excuse of ignorance gets them off time after time.

Taliban is tied with not many others for last place
as the worst form of human life which has ever existed.

Dead or alive, they all deserve to be spat on, urinated on
    and defecated on.

Therefore our soldiers should not be punished for their
appropriate treatment of the corpses of those nightcreatures.

Reading some posts here, it seems, sadly, evolution has allowed a couple of degenerates to slip past the threshold. And I am not talking US soldiers...

You must mean, sadly, that there are Talibani posting here.

A good line bears repeating (or paraphrasing):

Piss on them, dead or alive. And shit on them too. Saliva is too good for them

They are nightcreatures who stand for nothing except torment of all who
they differ with, their own countrymen suffering the worst.

Somebody throw this monkey a banana.

No, wait, he might try to sodomize himself... make that a watermelon.

Opps, nope, monkeys have been known to do vile things with them too.

Fuck it, let the stupid little bastard eat shit.

Both these cases differ quite considerably from this urinating bravado by a simple feature: impartiality—the artist projecting the human form, the archeologist studying it; the spirit involved is studious impartiality. Your piss-approved orgy is quite blankly a churlish show of mean frustrated obsessiveness lacking in spirit—which opens the door to a slew of interesting psychological questions.

Arguing over desecration and tit-for-tat is simply a means of saving face by taking the moral high ground over such slop.

It's not religion. How about the "bit of woo" where Prez Bush announced, "Bring it on!" and the armed forces told him to shut up?

    Yes it is.

You can't desecrate something that isn't sacred and that's totally the province of religion.

Or do you really think pissing on a grave has any actual meaning besides pissing on a plot of grass?

adoucette god your disingenuous. How is a cartoon in any way similar to pissing on a corpse? whether or not you should post a cartoon brings in issues of free speech which a) you don't HAVE in the army and b) IS NOT RELEVANT TO A CORPSE. Seriously, go down to your local crematorium and walk into whatever funeral is on and piss on the coffin, see what happens to you

Both are capable of pissing off fundemental religious people.

If I piss in public I'm likely to be charged with pissing in public.

What do you think the penalty should be?

Should this guy get in trouble?

    If not, why not?

Unless you attach some particular religious significance to a corpse.

There have been times and places when warriors saluted their fallen opponents as "worthy adversaries." They might have given them a decent burial ceremony, saluted them, made sure their personal effects were sent home to their grieving families. I'm not saying this has been the historical norm, but it's a striking contrast to today's so-called "warriors" who kill each other with remote-controlled technology, nonchalantly destroy infrastructure, and only tally civilian casualties on their own side. (Quick, how many Iraqis died in the Bush Holy War?)

Might it not change the tenor of our relations with the "evil" Muslim nations if we treated them with more respect? Kill them, sure, because war is, after all, war. But don't laugh about it and don't take fucking videos of yourselves pissing on their dead bodies. All you're doing is solidifying the opinion of their own people that they hate America and all Americans.

    Answer:
The lowest estimate of Iraqi civilian casualties by a respectable organization cited by Wikipedia is sixty thousand. The highest is one million. Killing somewhere between twenty and three hundred of another country's people for each one of your own people that it (allegedly) killed? Doesn't that sound a little bit like Genghis Khan? Is he our new role model?
All this because some people who weren't even Iraqis killed three thousand Americans in a decade. The same number who are killed by peanut allergies. And the same number who are killed by American drunk drivers in a couple of months.

Iraq had to do with Saddam, sanctions and weapons inspectors, Afghanistan is about 9/11

Do try to keep the two sorted out.
