I recently had a christian preaching to me about god and jesus christ and how im lost, wrong etc unlike him and tell me on the one hand he would like to start a possible escort business besides the legitimate legal one he has and his exact words: as long as i dont know what they are doing, its between them (as in going beyond a date). Then he quipped to a friend about how one hoe got her life together and is running a safe house reaching out to whores to help them get out of that life. Then he told me how he bought possible 'hot' property at a good price as long as, again, he isnt going to ask where they got it. But i see why because to him god is nature or naturistic and coupled with picking out parts of the bible to follow, focus vs not as well as forgiveness as long as you are saved or a believer, gods got your back as you are working it out even if there is nothing christian about you as long as you profess belief in god bs. Just making up their own personal religion. Thats the thing, thats what people pretty much do.

If you listen to 'people' or look to them as an example, they will fuck you up in the head with their contradictions, hypocrisy, rationales, excuses and agendas.

You have to take everything any human tells you or believes with a grain of salt as all are fallible, even when they are convinced they are doing a good work. The most key point i noticed is the use of 'god' as an authority to push, judge and shove their personal or otherwise opinions. Everyone has a politician inside them and most dont have the integrity to not corrupt you, mislead or just be incorrect. Being born again or filled with the holy spirit or whatever they believe or espouse does not give them immunity to the same faults, misunderstanding or wrong judgement like anyone else.

That said, there are more genuine or conscientious christians but thats because they are more sincere or try to remedy their mistakes or truly trying to be. There are also a lot of fake christians or con artists.

You said your training as if its not your personal character. There are people who were raised that way who reject it and who werent, who adopt it. An adult can even analyze what, how and why of their parents and choose to emulate the good, discard what they dont agree, outdated, erroneous or was harmful and even decide to not do everything or nothing the way their parents did. Otherwise, their training is just as much a blind process you follow too.

    That is somewhat the key.
Everyone thinks they are right and any action they take is justifiable using their personally tailored moral code.

I would justify my action once and of course was always right.
In each of my failed marriages I once believed it was my partner who was 100% in the wrong.
    I really believed that.
For what ever reason these days I can see how I must have been seen by others and certainly now say that in both breakdowns of my relationships I now know that I was 100% in the wrong.
I am happy that I can see how wrong I was but sad I was so stupid to behave so incredibly stupid.

I do not trust anyone but I give them absolute respect because often folk who are screwed up have been screwed up.
I am compassionate and caring for others but I never put myself in a position where I can be taken advantage of...

I critize folk who claim to be religious and don't follow their teachings which is wrong as one should not judge others because we don't know what made them the way they are.

All one can do is their best and try not to make the mistakes we see others make.
And always be aware you could be wrong and still be confident.
You seem like a thoughtful person and although it may be unpleasant to see hypocracy all over, you don't have to be like them and somehow enjoy life.
I try not to say bad things about others and that can be difficult but after practice you can find something good in everyone and that makes life better.

That works only when you deal with people with a long handled spoon as you can remain neutral or their and yours effect on eachother is so but it doesnt work in closer interactions. When i did just focus or try to just focus on the positive, it can be deleterious and unbalanced because those negative qualities dont go away because of any okay points and you can have little or nothing in common or those other aspects can be toxic, damaging or abusive. You do have to be mostly compatible to have personal relationships of any kind. Thats why they say you have to be careful in choosing your friends or mates.

I agree. Training can only go so far. If I was born as an unfeeling, uncaring sociopath, then my parents training would be meaningless. But I'm just a regular guy, and the training did stick. I don't believe in god, but that does not effect the way I treat my fellow humans. I try to good by my fellow man...not for a reward in heaven...but because it's the right thing to do.

    This works fine for God.

Why are we to be held to a higher standard than God?
