Did anybody watch it? What did you think of it? From the previews, I was fearing an animated version of "Lexx", a European style soft-porn show with plots as unfathomable as "The Magic Mountain." Instead it was more like "Futurama" with no network standards. "God, the Devil, and Bob" in outer space.

Cute plot for the season opener. And oh so iconoclastic. Interesting that it came out a just week after that movie about Jesus as a beautiful Anglo-Saxon guy-next-door.

Since I don't have cable nor do I watch much TV I wouldn't know anything about this show.

It is rare that my brain is COMPLETELY polarized over any one topic. Tonight, this has happened to me after watching "Tripping the Rift" on the scifi channel and it is an undescribable pain.

One side cries out "YES! We have sarcasm, wit, a scantily clad woman, violence, types of humor I have never seen on television before, god getting killed, and god killing two main characters." The other side screams "NO!!! We must kill it while we still can. It has the most hideous female monstrosity in any relm, implications of robot sodomy and foot long genitalia, a purple bean-bag chair as captain, and some weird crap we havn't even invented words for."

And then I thing "Wait a second... Thats what these forums do everyday." And then my head exploded into dozens of small but very bloody chunks. Somehow I knew this day would come the second I watched the original TTR short over the internet in days long past. CURSE YOU DARPH BOBO!!!

Lets just say, I think the censors were rounded up and and executed concentration-camp style by the makers of TTR. These guys also have to be living in a heavily armed fortress. One line was from a decidedly unattractive female robot who bent over and said "I learned a new word today. Sodomy." TTR is a sign of the apocalypse.

I saw the origona TTR short online in ye olden days myself, so I was reasonably shocked when I saw commercials for it on Sci-fi channel. I havnt seen it yet, but I assume there is significantly less CG nudity?

No real nudity, but it gets close. Six wears even skimpier clothing, though it is less transparent. We see an alien airline stewardess in the middle of a gangbang but all significant parts are covered.

Please notice when you watch that they did a really good job at emulating flesh, even making breasts seem fluid.

Really? cause if you can make good looking CG breasts and flesh then you shouldnt be dicking around with some project for the Scifi channel, pay porn websites will be tripping over themselves to hire you if you can show them a portfolio of that kind of thing, no kidding look for yourself. I would bet that that could pay better than some gig with the Scifi channel.

I too saw the origional Triping the rift short animation about a thousand years ago (uuuum maybe 5 or 6, I can't remember) and was left wondering what sort of long strange trip it must have undergone in order to only now have become a tv series on the scifi channel.

I saw a preview for it while flipping channels, but avoided it. I don't much like the type of humor I suspected it had ...

Any show where they kill god in the first show is an instant classic.
