    Hm....I'd Say...

    1. Menace II Society - If No Body Here Has Ever Watched This Movie, I Suggest You Watch It - Setting Is Watts, California From The Riots In The 60's To The Problems Still Facing Urban Life Up Till The Early 90's, Instant Classic.

    2. Scarface - The Story Of One Mans Rise To Power & Fall. Another Instant Classic.

    3. Boyz N The Hood - I Can Only Watch This Movie Once Really, But It Was Dope - Ice Cube Does Some Descent Acting, There's Some Very Dramatic Parts To The Film. I'm Sure Most People Watched This Allready.

    4. Blood In, Blood Out - About Spanish Gangs Outside & Inside California Prison. Dope Movie, A Bit Long - But Awesome Regardless.

    5. Juice - Tupac Does Some Sub-Par Acting But The Movie Is Nice Anyways. Tupacs Character Is a Dumb And Crazy Mother Fucker.

Ghost Dog! He's a black man and a samurai! It doesn't get any better than that, I'm afraid. "What the hell a samurai doin' in the ghetto" you ask? Well I'll tell you, friend, he's kickin' some ass, that's what. Oh, that and teaching young girls to read (cuz he's got heart, brotha').

On another note I had a boyfriend when I was back in New York - he lived in Brooklyn and was really sort of the stereotypical Italian from Brooklyn and all, and he just hated it whenever I asserted that "Black is the new Italian" hehe. Think about it - the organized crime - the bling - the bad clothes. . . it's all there!

(But to be fair, films like Godfather, Scarface and Key Largo have been mentioned which are classics.)

If it’s violence you want, look no further than gangster/cop films that have come out of Hong Kong for the most graphic and intense violence I have ever seen in movies. The violence is often very ‘stylized’ but it still leaves you with your jaw on the ground. The early works of John Woo (ie. before the sell-out Hollywood version of John Woo when he was still making films in HK) spring to mind. It always amuses me when blinkered American film goers declare a US-made film to be “violent”. You ain’t seen nothing!

No I am not trying to say that. What I am saying is that (in reference to the portion of the thread title that mentions violent films) I do not think any US-made films would rank in a list of the Top 5 Most Violent Films (assuming that the list is open to films from any country).

    That is all.

hmmm.,then i may be inclined to agree.i think ichi the killer would have to come in at number one for gore.but for sheer horribleness i think that irreversible and casino have to be there.two scenes which i find very hard to watch.

I would have to go with:

    Scarface
Goodfellas (although it's not that violent)
    Reservoir Dogs
Donnie Brasco I love Johnny Depp and Pacino

    New one I liked

    The Departed I love Jack!!
