So EDUCATION may be the key to solving our problems in the middle east. The higher educated the masses, the less likelyhood religion can be tainted as the Taliban have done. The "Taliban spokesman" did not speak for them all, as the Buddist statues (horrible disfiguration of art/history) was because of their beliefs that the human face should not be emboddied in art. This led to their destruction of all facial paintings/statues/film/ etc. Education (especially of women who raise their children), might alleviate religious strongholds by encouraging the true nature of their religion, as well as creating many atheists who also would not be subject to religious fanatics. The majority of people on sciforums seem to disbelieve in God, and I am assuming most of us are well educated. It is the "third path" for Religious zeal. Learn !
