    Perhaps they felt that only one back up light was needed and they made it brighter than it would normally be. :shrug:

    Are you really that dim? One is the reversing light, and the other the rear fog lamp.

    You only need one of each.

    Don't you have rear fog lights in the US?

    Sounds silly to me.

    Oh, just read the article is seem weird that they don't have them on bothsides. esp the reverse lights as often you cannot see both sides of a car. Also, just one fog light might make you look like a motor bike.

    No, just the "standard" tail lights that are lit continuously when turned on, turn indicators, brake lights and reverse lights.

    I've seen some Toyota Scion models with one reverse light.
    I wondered why they didn't mount it at the center of the bumper.
