Hold on Kadark, how can you have a theocracy and have religious freedom? Even though it can be done, it will discriminate against the people that are not of the state religion.

Kadark, your world would eliminate happiness from many people's lives. What would be the point of life itself? Besides, it wouldn't work. We are used to democracy; we would rebel.

At least Norse's views are practical. Take Civil Partnerships - you can't stop people from being gay; that it just how their brains work. Legally binding partnerships between homosexual couples would decrease promiscuity and venereal disease while making sure partners are eachother's next of kin.

I vote for neither. I abstain, in hope that neither of you are granted power. Instead I put myself forward as a candidate in this race for supremacy. Instead my policies will be moderate, developed and, importantly, fair.

I, like Norsefire, will legalize abortion and same sex partnerships. As my government will be secular, it cannot award tax breaks to church approved marriages. This is favoritism, in my government's eyes, and binds church to state which is unforgivable. They will instead be replaced with state certificates which grant similar advantages.

The education system will encompass a full curriculum with emphasis especially on maths, english and science, but as part of the primary/elementary syllabus, pupils will be expected to learn a second language through their first five years in education, and History/R.S will also be statutory subjects by secondary level. R.S will be taught with no bias, and national churches will be abolished. Hopefully, this will give students a broad understanding of the world and their minds, and arm them with tolerance, the most powerful tool for adult life.

Every religion will have equality, in that they are free to govern themselves within the law. Though any church inciting hatred, pressuring citizens or found perpetuating lies will be asked to cease and desist. If they refuse to, then they will be barred from practicing. There will be a license which you must attain before you can preach, part of it will be extensive background checks. If you lie on your application and are caught, it will be revoked. Should you persist in preaching, you will be punished with, potentially, prison service.

Secret services and torture are abolished. You get one warning for petty crimes, before you are charged and required to do prison service. Felonies have long sentences, and, before rehabilitation, criminals will receive psychological counselling, and be surveilled for several weeks, to see if they are ready. Sentences will be guidelines, doctors will provide the ultimate sentence. White collar crimes have no chance of parole. The same is true of hate crimes. The public can not afford to lose faith in the institution or its individuals at large.

There will be a welfare system. Though if claiming unemployment benefit, you will be forced to offer yourself up for work by way of a national register. When a job becomes available you will have to take it. This obviously only applies to work that requires no skill, though if you be qualified in a certain field, the state will take this into account. The most qualified will get the better jobs.

The rich and educated still have a duty to support the poor, and as such will have heavier taxes. This will work on a gradient up to 70% tax. There will be tax breaks for the most qualified.

There will be parliaments and councils for regions and areas, whereby local laws may be established. I will appoint a cabinet of experts, who must be qualified in their field, to advise me on the "federal" law. Before people can stand for election in a local parliament, they must have lived in the area for a minimum of two years, and had a non political occupation for 5 years. No career politicians.

You are free to buy drugs, from government sanctioned depots, at high markup prices, depending on the potency. The higher the potency, the higher the cost. You are not eligible for tax breaks, should you have used a drug within the past six months. You have a duty to society to be the best you can. Steroids will be sold at these depots, though if you are an athlete, you are still not permitted to use them. As such, there will also be an increase in your minimum sentence should you commit a crime whilst under the influence. If you are suspected of illicit drug activity, and cannot provide sufficient evidence that the were bought from the state, you will also be punished. Receipts of your transactions at these places, should be kept in a safe, so you are not wrongly convicted. The store should still have records of your transaction though.

Let us resist these fascists. My state will not be limited to two parties on the municipal levels. I am the non elected president/monarch, but that does not mean that my word is the law. Like I said, I will have a cabinet, though non elected by the people, who will vote on federal law. Violent protest against me, or my cabinet, is not prohibited. Though if civilians are injured in your attempt to overthrow me, you will be treated as a murderer by the state.
