Davy never fired Faraday.

Oh yes he did, I've seen several movies on TV about it.
... Faraday was fooling around in the lab in his off hours
and dangled a flexible wire 6 inches down to a pool of
Mercury in a flask, held a magnet next to the flask and
turned on the electric current through the wire, and for
chrissakes the end of the wire began revolving at about
10 RPM in a 4 inch circle in the Mercury ! He had

called Faraday into the office and fired him for fooling
around in the lab in his off hours. Meanwhile Maxwell

Seriously, you find me a link to documentary evidence that Faraday was fired by Davy and I'll retract post 518.Otherwise, I say it's bullshit.

According to this, he was Davy's assistant at the Royal Institution and he served out his apprenticeship. If he had been fired he could not have done that.

When it ended, he became a researcher at the Royal Institution in his own right.
