    Jordan may have wanted control over a large Palestinian population back in 1948, but I don't think the Jordanian government wants to rule over a 70% Palestinian population any more. It would lead to the overthrow of the king.

    Jordan is already 55% Palestinian but the Army and high government offices are still controlled by ethnic East Bankers. Many of the native East Bankers are not ready to become a minority in their own land even though demographically they are already a minority.

    Ah! But what happened to the will of the majority and Arab brotherhood? And why would the Palestinians necessarily overthrow that old git?
