    The difference being of course that when people are relocated in India, they are given alternate accomodation and the major project is for the benefit of the community.

    And we don't reward the ones who are doing the discriminating with billions of dollars and military equipment.

    And PS. its not racial discrimination, it is caste system.

    so are the Palestinians! They're put in refugee camps!

    But that ain't the big deal, is it, Sam? Nope, it's the fact that "the government" is taking the land away from them that's been in the families for a gazillion generations .....in exactly the same way the Palestinians are complaining about Israel ..............**** and who you support because of that (or so you claim!).

    Ooooh, pardon me! Since it's a "caste system", then that makes it oh, so much better and more easily swallowed, huh? Maybe we can change the name of racial discrimination in the US to "caste system", then it's be alright, huh?

    But you see no one else is living in their houses.

    I'll give you a hint. You cannot change your "race".

    Only if he calls himself so (which is when he wants all the freebies that go with the status, the free seats in school, in jobs). If he doesn't identify himself as a Dalit, how could you tell? They all look the same.

    And? What does that have to do with taking someone else's land? The goverenment does it in India, the Israelis do it in Israel. Yet you hate the Israelis for it, but you love and glorify the Indians for it??? Huh?

    Oh, so one of the Indian lower castes can just change his clothes one day and instantly become one of the upper castes? Hmm, interesting ...I didn't know it was so fuckin' easy! Thanks, Sam.

    Yup.

    Brahmin=scholars
    Kshatriya=warriors
    Vaishnav=merchants
    Shudra=unskilled

    And there was no mobility between the castes, a Kshatriya could not become a scholar.

    None of this is true anymore, its all slowly but surely changed and is changing.

    And we could say exactly the same about the Palestinian issue, can't we? But see, you won't let that go ...why not take the same stance with that issue as you do with the caste system in India? Why keep hammering at the Pal-Israeli issue, yet say virtually nothing about the Indian caste system? Or any other Indian problems?

    and ya' know, we can also say the same about the racial problems in the USA. And yet you won't let that go, either, will you? No! You keep hammering at the USA and Americans about their poor record of racial strife!

    Sam, you're one of the most hypocritical people I think I've ever met/known.

    So you don't want to let us know why you're so hot n' bothered about the Palestinian issue, yet completely ignore the same/similar problems in India?

    You don't want to tell us why you're so hot n' bothered about racial problems in the USA when India has a similar or worse situation of their own?

    You don't want to tell us why you're so fuckin' hypocritical?

    Come now Baron, you're cynical enough to recognise that everyone is hypocritical.

    I hardly need to reiterate that, do I?

    No.

    I do feel that the territory could be divided between Israel and Jordan, if there were no other solution. Why can't they be Jordanians? Why is that a problem? You don't address it.

    Of course. So there are two nations where there was one.

    Or that they felt there was no difference between themselves and the rest of Syria or Jordan; your post suggests they did not.

    Did you have a response to my other points?

    Best,

    Geoff
