Let me see who will carve Iraq? I think as long as the US stay's in Iraq things will be unified. BUT superfically only, I don't think democracy in Iraq can work for many reasons. The election will happen yes, will it be fair? I don't think so. Will the outcome settle Iraq down? Quite the opposite. Will Iraq be soverign? No way. Once that election takes place every country in the region will have her say, and so will the major powers. That's only one reason why it won;t work.

It's a big mess. It's becoming more obvious that the whole of Iraq will never again (or not for a very long time) have life as good as they had it with Saddam Hussein.

The US has recklessy set Iraq on the brink of a horrific civil war, and is now cluelessly experimenting with Israeli, Soviet, and neocolonialist tactics to hold it all together, lacking the popular support and expertise necessary to introduce even basic law and order. Iraq already has died unexpectedly. Now the violent emergence of something new begins.

it would be hilarious if it didn't involve the lives and deaths of so many people that America thinks it can plant it's (my, argh) flag in the middle east and declare that democracy will be the rule.

as many a peacenik said before the war.. any attempt at establishing a government through militarism and american power over there will be sabotaged by so many enemies it won't be funny. really, i don't understand how anyone can believe we can acomplish this.

here, ill put a gun to yer head and tell you to play fair.. now.. doesnt that feel better now that you are calm? relax.. don't think about this gun.. think about yer future.. ok now.. you will cooperate with these corporations and play fair.. or um, i might pull the trigger. there doesnt that feel better?

    holy fuckin hell. literally.

oh and by the way .. you now owe us a ton of cash for killing yer people and apprehending your leader.

Indeed the neo-cons thought that somehow that Iraq will emerge with dandelions and peace loving Iraqi's in a massive orgy of love in an election. We'll have an orgy alright, of civil war, death, exploitation, and foreign influence. Who stands to gain from this impending civil war? Iran by helping the Shi'a, and thus gaining even more influence in the South. Syria, Jordan, S.A, in the Sunni areas, and those poor Kurds, they get Turkey. Israel will be in there to make sure those Shi'a don't get into power. All this is bound to happen, if the US leaves. The US says it will...when? Notice the ppl who vote yes, are oddly silent. Logical deduction tells me they are voting out of spite.
