Life isn’t fair. I’ve always hated this phrase with a passion ever since I was very young. The reason is that it is the biggest most irresponsible cop out that idiots use to get away with being unfair. They even say it like it’s something new when in reality they got it from various idiots that have propagated it over and over so many times in their life that they automatically accept it as fact. The real fact of the matter is that this bullshit idea that life isn’t fair can’t even be proven. Whoever created this stupid retarded phrase should be capped along with any other idiot that follows along and uses it like a zombie on crack.
Or perhaps this zombie on crack should start him a thread bitching about planet Earth's most truthful lesson. Life. Is. Not. Fair.
Prove life is fair. Life doesn't play by rules. It isn't just describing acting unfair to other people, it's about all the stupid shit that happens that we have no control over. Like you just buy a new house and lighting hits it and burns it down the night before you move in. Life just isn't fair. Plain and simple.
I thought you were going to say its a dumb phrase because of course life isn't fair and we shouldn't even use the word fair because fair has nothing to do with what life is. But alas, I am dealing with cool skillPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Alas wrong! Just as you can't prove that life isn't fair, I too cannot prove that it is. Some things just cannot be proven. Just as it would be a waste of time for somebody to propgate the idea that life is fair, it goes the same way for idiots that waste people's time trying to promote the unproven brainless idea that life isn't fair.
If you think life is moderately good, acceptable or satisfactory for everyone on this planet, you're living in a dream world. Life isn't fair: play hard.
But It IS Fair... If it weren't, there wouldn't be any around to consider the point. The unreasonable thing is assigning the sum total of it an equal value to one's own.
Re: But It IS Fair... That doesn't make sense. You're not hungry because you eat: You're hungry because you don't! If life was fair, no one would expend any energy arguing the contrary because of evidence supporting the counter-position.
The dumbest phrase: Life isn't fair But the thing is, i think life is fair. We all have oppurtunities and chances that we can make for ourselves and oppurtunities and chances that we create. Everyone plays this game called life you juss gotta know how to do it...right
... tell that to the african kid who barely gets enough to struggle another day. Tell that to young men who study their entire lives only to see that their efforts go unrewarded because some jerk with connections gets the career they rightfully deserve. Tell that to innocent people who get abducted by aliens and get probed in the ass... OK, so I made that last one up... you get the point. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
cool skill here is another example of the phrase most people do not care for morals and ethics when they are not on the recieving end of abuse life is life... people are the ones who make it fair or unfair so those that use the term are most often the ones who care little for others and abiding by rules and are more likey to cheat at any oppertunity they get you are right in your concept 'of those using the phrase' genraly speaking imho
Life isn't fair. We simply don't get equal chances in our lifetime. Most of your life/quality of life will be determined by where you are born, your natural abilities, the type of family you've been brought up by etc. We don't get to choose any of these things that essentially determines who we are/become. There have been enough examples of how life can be unfair yet I see no replies to these examples. I do have to agree with cool skill though that the phrase itself is what irritates me. Mostly because I've heard it from my well off western friends who mostly don't have a clue what it true inequality means.
life isn't fair. Tell me whats fair about the fact that we can go to a tap turn it on and get fresh clean water. Yet we don't properly appreciate this fact. Others in the world have to sometimes walk miles for dirty, disease ridden water that could kill them. Yet they'll die if they don't drink it. the fairness in that?
Is it fair that that "nice clean water" is so filled with chemicals, and other shit that they don't bother to tell us about, that we have to buy a filter so that we can actually make the water we are already paying for safe?
I agree with Solidus, Supermalek and DeSeRt RaT UK. Also - where is any fairness when small child gets cancer or is infected with HIV and dies? The only thing which would make life fair is reincarnation - you get thing in this life according to your conduct in previous life. That would be fair. On the other hand - there is no sense in complaining that life is not fair. You have the life you have got. It's very much like lottery. You must be content with your "prize". The only thing you can do is to use your potential or screw it up.
