Text messaging as mental illness?

Things have changed, we hardly ever called to each other, it was something that adults did, we went straight to each other place to visit because that is what we would have done anyway, but, we lived in apartment building neighborhood, short distances.
And if any friend wasnt home we did go to our hangout places, and if there wasnt nobody, tough luck. Our activities were kinda spontaneous, hardly ever planned ahead much, planning as going. But back then it was the one wire phone per family, maybe that had something do with it, it was kind of too formal to ring because you never know who would pick the phone in the other end, dunno, havent think about before

. And it's usually we talk, and only don't talk for half an hour or something when we have to eat or something. It's the best! Only six hours anyways.. We have a lot more time in the day than that!

Text messaging itself is not an illness. THIS GIRL'S BEHAVIOUR is a mental illness.

Hmm ok, wouldn't it be nicer to go visit her instead of calling/texting ?

He can text later at night than he can call or visit.

OK, relationships change, we now have people we class as friends we have never met, but sending thousands of text messages is odd behaviour to say the least.

Maybe the kid would get on just as well with a copy of Eliza?

    It's a judgment call

The number Enmos is using, one message every seven minutes, is the first number I came up with. And then I looked up the average for how much a teenager sleeps. Accounting for that, it's one message in or out every five minutes as long as she's awake.

Dinner? Classes? A shower? How about while sitting on the toilet?

At what point, in your opinion, does text messaging become problematic? In psychological terms, at what point, in your opinion, does text messaging cause significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning?

notice that it does not matter much what you type to Eliza...what you say is changed by computer as well.
