What symbolic meaning does the Lotus Flower have in Eastern Mysticism? What does it represent?

    well then
we can put aside the mind bending properties of the plant, and go with rebirth
perhaps, more accurately surviving a traumatic experience and coming out "fresh as new"
the flower closes up at night and reopen the next day

It is nurtured in darkness and muck, only to arise in the sunlight where its true beauty shows in all its glory.

The Fibonacci sequence offers a "balanced" vertical growth pattern and is the most efficient petal and leaf distribution for vertical growth as well as efficient sunlight collection.
A natural constant utilized by many objects which are considered divine and sacred patterns. (the golden mean)
