This is awful news. I was hoping I could go to my grave without being exposed to a crap movie/miniseries made of Clarke's novels: Childhood's End, Rendezvous With Rama, and Sounds of Distant Earth. At best, this will be mediocre. I best not watch it . . . .

I think it's due in December.

From the trailer, I thought it was Ian McKellen as the Overlord, but it turns out it was Charles Dance. Haven't seen him in anything in like forever.

Aha -- the bad guy from The Last Action Hero.

And what the heck is a "Syfy" anyhow? Does that allow the channel to broadcast any kind of crap they want to, without being encumbered with the implied promise of only science fiction?

Guess you just admitted to not watching Game of Thrones.

    Charles Dance plays Tywin Lannister.

I wonder how much of the following assorted crap will be added: car chases, explosions, nudity, foul language, gun fights, brawls, etc., etc., ad nauseam.
