I drive. Not because I'm afraid, but because I like to see things. The trip isn't in the destination, but in the journey. I think the last plane I was on was American. Before that it was Frontier and Braniff. Say hi when you see me...and run. lol
I'm in trouble now, I'm going to Europe in a few weeks on AMERICAN Airlines! EEEK!Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
LOL, Oh yeah. Umm, if there's a bear, I just have to outrun Darksidzz. If I need food, I just eat Darksidzz. If I need warmth, I just set Darksidzz on fire. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I hope you understand how incredibly stupid that generalisation sounds. Anyone can learn at any time, provided on is willing and there is a source from which to learn.
I like it. You should carry Darksizz in your backpack. But you will have to spend a night with him being in close proximity. Have you any survival skills in that? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Dorky, you never go anywhere, you never do anything, your life is one endless rut, you spend all your time typing on your computer and living virtually and vicariously. Now here for a change of pace you consider going outside. What a joyful idea! Go see a forest, a park, a foreign city, the beach, the Grand Canyon, the Acropolis. Hawaii, Rome, Vancouver, Acapulco, Jamaica. So what are you imagining? Instead of all those wonderful things, you imagine yourself stranded in a hostile environment with no food, surrounded by icky bugs? Of all the fabulous experiences you could be having--if only in your imagination--THIS is what you choose to dwell on??? Dorky, you are SICK! Go get some HELP! You are just one pathetic creature! You will never be LOST because you will never be that far away from your PARENTS! They will hear you in the next room and come get you!
I sense hostility all mighty Fraggle :S I shalln't argue cuz I dk but anyway u r gettin madder at me with each passing day, adios :C~
If you plan to travel to where you never been before, maybe it helps if you prepare: Map If you go to wilderness (unlike city maps which could have good detail of street etc), maybe you could create your own map from google earth. Based on own experience, it helps if you could prepare 2 types of map: * overall view. Divides this into several zones, give mark on each zone. * zonals view, which are the closer look of each zones. Give mark which zone is it in your overall view map. Imo, the best detail is when you zoom google earth from 1.8 km eye sight. This you can see trees with good resolution. Closer than that will be blur. When you take picture from google earth, cover all area you will visit, with closest city or settlement as border. GPS Please utilize technology to ur maximum benefit...! Here in Germany, I bought a GPS receiver for EUR 50 , dunno how much is that in US, for sure less than $ 100. If you have the GPS, dont forget to georeference your map (put proper coordinate on your map). Compass, flaslight, spare battery And of course... your mobile! But that won't help much if you go to places without signal. Mp3 player so when you have to spend a night, you won't feel lonely Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Paper and pen Leave a note like every 100 meter u walked, write something like: was here on 21.8.2007, 9 AM, walked to blabla direction (e.g give arrow). Hope the rescue team will find you soon, DarksidZz...!
Let's see... Advice for darksidZz in the wild... Cover yourself in honey, barbecue sauce and cow's blood. Sleep near caves and large boulders with gaps beneath and between them. If you see a bear, run after it and poke it with a sharp stick. Rattlesnakes are timid, if you see one, lunge at it face-first, screaming. Blowfish makes a great sushi meal in the wild. ALWAYS keep your food in your tent with you - preferrably in your sleeping bag. That about covers it for now. I'll post more if I can think of them.
Lol, I guess my post was irrelevant Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I started to think of those when some poster suggest to look for north and give signal....!
the main reason i never mentioned it in my post. starting a fire by rubbing two sticks together is next to impossible. you might as wait for a lightning strike first. an even better bet would be to carry 2 lighters, a zippo and a bic. a decent method i just thought of would be to remove the reflector from your flashlight and use it to ignite some bits of lint and wood chips. yes indeed, finding fresh water will seem simple by comparison.
