Star Wars vs Star Trek

Vasago, a couple problems:

1) The star wars universe is different from the Star Trek universe for the simple fact that humanity in ST is still based around the SOL system, not the Inner Galaxy.

2) Star Wars tech is stagnant in the movies, no reason to expect otherwise outside of it.

3) Q are omnipotent, Q and MANY others have made that quite plain.

4) Star Wars is NOT the "missing link" in humanity...

5) Q are not evolved Jedi... period.

It was a Cameo appearance Saquist... only done because the producers had a liking and respect for Star Wars. Considering it's a fleeting likeness (not even a clear image) and we never see red or green blaster bolts impacting the cube... we can safely assume it wasn't meant to be a combatant ship nor to be seen by 99% of people

But then again there is no real point of reference when they say "A Long Time Ago" It could be from the point of view of the narrator which could actually be in our future. 10,000 years after the Enterprise-J. They could be the third evolution of man. The Alterans/Ancients being the obvious first.

The enterprise approaches coruscant. Star destroyer captures in tractor beam. Earth destroyed same as alderaan.

 

Oh come on now that is just silly! All the Enterprise would need to do would be to send a feed back pulse though the tractor beam, short out there entire system including shields, add a few well places Photon & Quantum Torpedoes and it becomes Super Star Dust. And I must say I think the Defiant could take out a Super Star Destroyer by herself. And while their Star Destroyers are busy A Xindi Probe drops out of Warp short of the Atmosphere of Coruscant and completely destroys the planet in just a few sec as the SF ships Warp out and the SD are destroyed by the shock wave of the explosion.

Surely you jest... if an ISD or even a SSD tried that move, the Enterprise would go to warp and rip the bloody emitter out of the ship, probably destroying it in the process... we all know how those things are wired...

You realize the ONLY reason Star Trek ships have trouble taking off from orbit is because of the following:

1) If they used warp power, they'd most likely IRRADIATE the entire fucking planet.
2) If they used IMPULSE power (Fusion Engines) they'd do pretty much the same thing.
3) If they used Warp DRIVE via Auxilliary Generators, God HELP anyone within that HEMISPHERE as that part of the planet gets taken for the ride.
4) You realize Newtons Laws... Equal and Opposite reaction? Yeah... should you apply the force to go to near light speed (even .5c) from a dead stop, you'd likely implode a nice sized HOLE in the side of the planet. That's probably NOT what they like doing to their shipyards...

FINALLY:

You realize they take off via Manuvering Thrusters... yes, THRUSTERS. No Impulse, not Warp, THRUSTERS. Main engine startup doesn't even OCCUR until low orbit!

Borg would more than likely kick the damn shit outta the empire. For starters the empire has star destroyers numbering in the tens of thousands. The borg have ships numbering in the millions. The borg have previously never ahd any problems ramming a cube and using it as a kamikazie against another ship. So worse comes to worse, the star destroyers are outnumbered, outclassed, and by far out sized. I mean come on a borg cube is massively huge.

Also for the comment that the defiant could take on an ISD. I agree. ISD's turbolasers are freaking innaccurate. They can barely hit the broadside of a barn.....from inside. The defiant probably would sustain no damage.

Fedr808. The Defiant wouldn't sustain damage because the turrets would little to no effect.

Now there's no garantee if they get hit by those heavy weapons.

 

We'll probly never know because those turrets could not hit the broadside of a barn from inside, chances are the defiant would not even get hit.

 

Obviously those big guns were made to hit much much bigger targets than Defiant.

But the way they blew up that Star Destroyer with em is incredible.

2.not likely. the creators of ET and SW hint those events are placed in the same universe and the universe in ET is not the same as ST (no voyager2+ probes, no eugenic wars).

even if SW was the distant past it is more likely they got exctinct by now since their stars went nova
