A future federation that is like the time police, and it stops unauthorized tampering with the timeline. Such as a SW attack.

It would be so awesome if they could delete a whole series of events. Like what if they deleted the nuclear war that happened between the USSR and the USA?

Yes it would be good...and I would be happy to take all the cool armor back to the futur and have the Federatio fight a Borg War....It's supposed to happen.

Could, but would delete the future federation , regarding the Temporal Prime Directive, and they simply wouldn't allow that to happen... But what about temporal shields?

    Or and IMP attack.

Send in a bunch of Temporal agents to destroy/sabotage their reators. That would be funny to watch.

You do realise that the Federation created a field of self-replicating cloaked mines right?

The future Feds allow the Relativity (and presumably other temporal-tech enabled ships) to police the time stream such that the Federation is preserved as is. This means that all historical events have to remain intact, including all historical Earth nuclear wars...

Star Trek is just too goody-goody. Not enough realism, except for Deep Space Nine.
