Not surprizinly i queston corpral punishment as a desirable learnin tool.!!!

1 time i got slapped by a teecher cause i coudnt read the firs word in my readin lesson when she tested me at her desk... an even after she slapped me i still didnt know how to read the word

It was in the firs grade... us kids was settin on the floor studyin our lesson... an jus befor it was my time to go to the teechers desk an read our lesson to her a Guy named Murel tolt me i was studyin the rong lesson... that we was on the nest lesson in our reader book... well i went up to the teechers desk to read to her an i coudnt even read the firs word (Mother)... i was stutterin aroun tryin to read the word an all the suddin "SLAP"... an then she saw i was on the rong lesson an turned the page to the corect story an i read it oK.!!!

Normaly she was a oK teecher... i guess she was havin a bad day.???

Yes. Generally the definition for the word punishment implies that the received penalty was a deserved one. I don't see how this isn't obvious to you. But maybe it's just my sloppy semantics playing the bad guy here.

No, I don't. But generally every undeserved punishment is considered as mistreatment, or abuse in my eyes.
Though, those opinions may differ widely amongst the Sciforums populace, but the earlier given definition for the term "Punishment" is my general perception of said word.

My bad, I should have elaborated it a titbit more. When I said, "No, I don't" in response to your question whether all punishments are deserved or not, I meant to imply with this that some punishments are based on wrong facts, i.e. that it happens that some people get falsely punished for something they haven't done (happens in the judiciary system, and wherever the f*ck in the world), but that under normal circumstances the general concept of punishment is, IN MY EYES, that it was a deserved one, and not one given out of false reasons, or facts.

So, if I kick you in the balls, and if lex talionis would be applied in this case then it would be perfectly understandable, wouldn't it?
