if i had been alone on a deserted island, never having religious influence of any kind or any books, or anyone else around to tell me what i should believe, that the spirit would still be available to me, and because of that, i would still find what i've found.

How would you have called out to God if you had no such concept?

why in the hell would i have even when i did?

i actually think it would be easier to find without all of the contradiction that society and religion has to offer.

because ignorance wasn't something i was willing to live with, and the answers were not available anywhere else.

How did you come to the conclusion that you were ignorant about God?
And how did you come to the conclusion that the answers were not to be found elsewhere?

And how do you know that you actually do have answers now, as opposed to delusion?

because i didn't know if god existed.

because i looked elsewhere, and they weren't there.

To say that you are ignorant of God implies that you already think that he exists. Otherwise things become a bit nonsensical.

So you got a direct answer then?

    Lori: "God, are you there?"
Voice in your head: "Yes, Lori. It is I, God"

    Like that?

    :roflmao:

    Doesn't work like that.
    Even loonies get "results".

"loonies"? get results like what? peace, serenity, strength, empowerment? doesn't sound so loony to me.

listen man the proof is in the putting. it's that simple. for all the squawking you do about science and proof and objectivity, you should know better than to doubt that.

i was not ignorant of the religious concept. i was ignorant as to whether god exists.

that's a very condensed version, but yeah, something like that.

let's use an example. do you know that in china, they call chinese food just food?

did you know that italian food and thai food is food?

do you think that there aren't people who are not christian in other places that can't also feel or experience peace, serenity, strength or empowerment through their own way or learning?

Many loonies are happy in their delusions. And angry at the world for questioning/ doubting their delusion...

Taken up golfing? Or just illiterate?

    Er,
THAT is how "simple" it is.

And that is why I doubt. Your "results" are anecdotal, subjective and neither replicable nor verifiable.

So you got organized religion to thank for your connection with God.
Otherwise you'd never have gotten the idea that you were ignorant of God or that you weren't sure if he existed or not.

How did God prove himself to you? Just by saying "It is I, God"?
How can you be certain that it is God that answered? Or that it wasn't your own mind that answered?
