i never buy a new product like vista or Xp befor 1rst or second Service pack
at start there is alwais many bugs to deal with and many hardware/soft havent already make Drivers for an official version of new product.
so it's alwais good to wait a little and read news about it.

I just installed Vista on my new PC and I like it a lot.

Its quick as hell on my rig. I suspect most of the ppl who are hating on it are using old hardware.

Its the most different Windows that MS has put out since Win95

I'd guess old hardware or non-compatible drivers. It's known that some anti-virus programs have issues.

Basically any program that wants to at load up check for updates is usually via for execution space on and of the windows operating systems and it tends to clog your system up to a crawl.

Methods to deal with this problem range from turning off auto-updates, to installing different programs all together or configuring programs to attempt to update at set times (which of course means having your computer on for those updates to take place)

Meh, it's so complicated for Windows... I dread the day when I'll have to use it for film editing (quite soon). It's far easier to manage Linux.
Will be using XP though, not that chicken nonsense (vista = chicken in Latvian).
