I created this as an e-mail for a friend of a friend so I thought I might as well copy and paste here for anyone who may be interested. I have mentioned this method before here but I recently encountered another sinus infection, the second in 4 years in which I used the method listed below to eliminate it. I want to emphasize that it MAY in fact have been a coincidence. However, in both cases it worked immediately and the pain and pressure were severe enough that in the past only antibiotics would resolve it. However, taking antibiotics in the past started a pattern of infections for me that went from 2 infections a year to 3 and then 4 a year before I sought out another way. In the past 4 years, things have been so amazingly different in my sinus health for the positive that I love to share this to all other sufferers. "For your friend, http://www.amazon.com/Saltaire-Sinus-Relief-Dispensr-14/dp/B001I2QK0S/ref=pd_sim_hpc_3 Here is the pump bottle I use. I pour out the solution it comes with as it's pretty harsh stuff. I use basic cold water and some salt. About 1 heaping teaspoon per bottle. You can add more or less, you want just enough so it doesn't hurt but not so much that it dries out the sinuses. You can also add a teaspoon of baking soda but I usually skip it. Whenever I have mowed the lawn or been in any environment where there is a lot of pollen or dust or whatever that may impact my sinuses, as soon as I can I take a shower and use the pump. Before using this method, after mowing the lawn I would have issues for at least 5 days, running nose and eyes, congestion etc and have to take decongestants all the time. Now, symptoms don't last even 1-2 days if at all and now over the last 3-4 years I only take about 5-10 decongestants a year and I have both grass and mold allergies. If I encounter a sinus infection, I have had 2 over that time period, I add 2-3 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide to a full bottle. Once I pump the water in I tip my head upside down and you can feel the burn way up in the sinuses and even tilting your head to get it in the deeper areas. The hydrogen peroxide kills on contact and also helps clear passageways. Now, this has worked very well on both occasions and it still may have been just a coincendence, but I have found this information on the web from others who swear by this method and it has worked in both events. In both cases, the very next day I felt very little pain and pressure and then I gave it another round and by the second day it was completely gone. This used to take antibiotics to make it go away. Which is what was causing the pattern of having them all the time before I went to this method. The main instruction on the pump is to use it in the shower, make sure your head is forward, pump the water in one side, gently, very gently clear out the sinus and then switch sides and repeat as needed. Don't just flush a bunch of water, all agree that using the pump to create and ebb and flow effect is better. But this is also way more aggressive in clearing out any irritants etc then an Neti Pot. If you try to clear out too hard it can hurt the ears and if you don't lean forward enough the water can run back down the throat, both should be avoided. Also, very important, if you have an infection and use the hydrogen peroxide don't let it get in the eyes, it can do damage there. Also not a good idea to swallow it but at such a small dose won't be a problem. Just keep out of eyes. Tell her good luck" So although regarding the infections it may be a coincidence, the fact that it has worked equally as well in the second instance tells me that it may be a solid solution to the issue without using antibiotics.
