Hey. I'm posting in three different threads. And since I'm a guy I was never taught to type (along with no shoe appreciation lessons). So give a break.

Oblivious adults are easy to manipulate. It’s what politicians like George Bush want.

Maybe homeschooling would be a better option?

It could be. But how many parents are capable these days of giving a rounded education or even having the time? In the UK it's probably 15 years too late looking at parents of school-age kids now.

    he said:
"A couple hundred years ago we (the US) didn't like some of the laws you guys (that would be England, currently the UK) had and look what happened."
    that would be a no.

he wants me to tell you that he likes you (which i must say is impressive) and that his occupation is marine. that's why he plans on giving you a hard time and he hopes you can take it.

Anybody in the services has my respect, most have my admiration.
My time in uniform is a long while back. And hardly glamourous then. If he's a marine then he'll be familiar with a particular Brit aircraft (or at least be aware of it). For a long time the only people in the world that thought it was any good were the designers, the RAF and the USMC. They practically save that plane from the scrap heap, until it saw action and made its reputation.

Ordnance = weaponry. Ordinance = rules and laws

Err not exactly military. I was in uniform but everyone bar officers were part time. The one single service in the UK (and probably the world) that EVERYBODY prayed would never ever get to see action. I was trained for nuclear war -bomb spotting, damage assesment and stuff. But I have a number of friends that were "real" military and I did try for RAF (failed on account of having weird blood - malaria and I'm dead, you have a blood transfusion from me and you're very ill or dead - cried for a week when they discovered that and turned me down. Especially as I had already taken and passed all the tests. Was gonna be in ordnance

    ).
Err. Civvies don't understand is the easiest way to say it. It's like the saying about jazz, if you have to ask you'll never know.
