Question...since this game is starting...our D & D game at the house died, I have one rogue hooker character sans anything to do...she's been awfully fun to run...don't think she'd join an actual army though...that would be too much like work...
Can anybody join this???
Alright, human rogue, small-built, fast on foot (and off), shoots a light crossbow and carries a rapier and dagger. Leather armor. Climbing gear in the backpack. Winter cloak.
Better at stabbing if she sneaks up on you. Not terribly strong. Good at picking locks and defusing traps.
You did say medieval, right?
Assuming no magic.
If magic she's managed to snag a pair of darkvision goggles.
Dungeons and Dragons?
I'd say we come up with something original. Not really Earth. It takes away from the fantasy when you start mentioning real locations.
Myths and legends yes. I don't care if we have magic or not. My guy doesn't use it.
Oh yeah right, that rings a bell.

Alright now that i'm done adding my two cents; my character:
Human, male. About 16. Owns a dog and lives in a house on a hill at the outskirts of a village. Trained in swordfighting; uses a broadsword for self-defence. Has decent clothes.
Glad I could help. By the way, that is the pinnacle of RPG nerdom. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Me and Fed got outvoted, the centralist have the vote.
Magic lost, myth and legends won.
I am an elf shinobi/ronin that is kinda a player then Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! My guy's title will be "Shogun" but not like a legit Shogun, but he and his clan (not related by blood, a group of Ronins, Shinobis, former monks, swordsmen etc.) calls him that. My guy is gonna be 18 and his name is gonna be Sakuma Balder.
Lol yeah, I had to escape my own house because Welsh kids were playing it.
Don't worry Toto, I've never been to Kanas Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I'm gonna start with a short post! Lets get this started Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
"Shogun, run, I can hold them off!" Torii said suddenly sliding to a stop, turning around with his Katana out. She was carrying the unconscious leader of the Minamoto clan on his back. Torii threw the man to him, he slung the man over his shoulder, then slid to a stop.
"Torii, what are you doing?" he said, "we don't have much time, we have to run!"
"That's why you should go!" Torri said, "there are too many of them, we can't run from them all, I will fight them off here,"
He then pulled out his Kusarigama, "then so will I," with the chain spinning in his left hand and his sickle firmly grasped in his right.
"Shogun, run while you can!" Torri said impatiently
"And leave you to die?" he said with his feet firmly planted in the ground, Torii turned around and kicked hard, sending him falling off the building.
"The clan's survival depends on this mission, Sakuma please, I am begging you as a subordinate and an old friend," Torri then said, "place more faith in your friends, I will survive,"
Torii threw away her mask, revealing her fair face and hair. She left him no choice, Sakuma bowed and said,
"Sakuma Balder will always remember you in my heart, mind and soul" he then ran,
She then screamed something he thought he would never hear from her, an old childhood friend,
"Sakuma, I love you,"
It was the last he never heard from her, the next morning, he returned to save her but all he found was a corpse, at least all the wounds was in her front. He didn't know if it was his imagination or reality, and thought he would never know until he opened her will, what he heard was no dream. They were just friends for 15 years, and could have been something more. The Kichiro Clan just lost a co-leader, and Shogun Sakuma Balder just lost a childhood friend, loyal subordinate and a potential lover named Torii Mototada.
He put her will above a candle, but decided against burning it, he kept it in a small bag that he will carry around wherever he travels. He drew his ninjato at lightning speeds and chopped all 22 candles around him in half in the blink of an eye, but the candles remained standing, another testament of his skill, even when drunk. He took another cup of sake, he reached his limit and fell unconscious with his ninjato in his hand.

Sad story eh?
One guard to another... "Where is Dovyi?"
Sasha replied..."Ah, that out of towner, the harlot...I think he got some good popskull, went to go chat her up."
Gregor replied "Bony little thing, dunno what Dovyi sees in the little hussy anyway... she'll not last long at hard labor, that's for sure..."
About that time a roar of pained manhood is heard from the rear of the jail, and the popskull bottle, flaming rag stuffed on its' mouth, flies down the hallway to burst into flame on the dirty rushes.
Within an instant there is smoke everywhere, and in another there are a multitude of prisoners running amok in the smoke, beating the guards and each other in a mad dash to escape... and in their midst a naked young woman, small and extremely fast on her feet flies by, like a dash of milk.
....later that night, Lotte looks down on a hill overlooking the town, wearing some purloined robes, under which there is a good light crossbow she can use very well. She smells quite badly of feces at this point, but sewage can be washed away.
The fire of the burning headquarters below shines on her narrow cheekbones, lights her green eyes.
Yes, that was too close...new horizons were called for. Over the mountains, where they'd never heard of the Svarog. Besides, to the east there was always unrest, unrest meant fighting, and fighting meant money...or men willing to spend that money on a pretty face...
Either way, Lotte is game. She flashes a feral grin and vanishes from Svalbarog.
(out of game...prelude good?)
"Sakuma...I love you!"
He saw her fading away right before his eyes...
"Sakuma, sakuma, sakuma!" Torii shouted
"Torii, I just want to say..." he said
"Sakuma!" he then felt the ground tremble beneath him, that was weird, "Sakuma, wake up!"
He hit the ground with a loud thud. He saw a girl standing over him,
"Torii?" he asked quizzically,
"Try Annalisa," she said picking him up and putting him on his bed, it was still dark outside he looked around him and he drew a blank, "hey, where am I?"
"In your room, you passed out drunk, so me and Antonio carried you here," she said, he had a really bad headache, he asked, "how long have I been out?"
"Two full days, Akio thought you got assassinated at first," she said, she smiled and then asked, "are you even gonna ask why I'm here?"
He looked up at her, she wore a large fur cloak with a large sword slung across her back, his mind suddenly became clear and jumped up from his bed "Master Tassadar is here?"
OOC: This prelude takes place 10 years before the central story will.
Beagle was returning to the guild along through the warrens. The warrens were the bad part of town in the grand city of Azoth and Beagle was another one of the twelve year old left there to die.
"Piss, only three coppers, fist is gonna kill me." he said under his breath.
And that was no exaggeration, the guild was made up of kids from five to eighteen years old, and the older kids could easily kills the littles without a second thought.
When he rounded a corner he saw a torrent of flames from where the guild was, all he could think was to run as far and as fast as he could, and that's what he did.
The little child had nowhere to go, no place to call home, and three coppers to his name.
He decided to try his best to apprentice himself to someone, he remembered one man, dressed in all leather that went by often, that would be his mastered.
He ran to the taverns but no one was there, to the streets where only beggers lay.
He ran to the brothels, to the crooks and courtesans until he found the man, without a second thought he tugged on the large mans robe and was backhanded to the ground and a knife was drawn against his back.
"pffft, child go home." the dense accent stated
He got up, held out the three coppers he had as an offering and said "let me be your apprentice!"
how can you have myth and legend without magic anyways?
I dunno, I'm not the one voted for it
I am guessing we can't make up random magic.
"He is gathering the others and will arrive as soon as possible," she said she then added solemnly, "he wants to pay his last respects to Torii,"
"He heard?" Sakuma asked with his eyes closed and with a great sense of guilt,"he does keep tabs on all of us eh?"
They were all war orphans, all of them. Orphaned by the infighting among the elves, the civil war is still heated even as they speak. Tassadar was once a revered elven chieftain and a feared and respected warrior, he took it upon himself to take in and raise seventeen war orphans with promise and potential. He raised them like his own and took them all around the world and trained them as leaders, warriors, and most importantly great elves. Sakuma and a few others decided to remain with the Katsumoto Clan, and Sakuma was eventually made Shogun of the clan. It have been a year since then and they have lost one of their own.
Sakuma took a deep breath and said, "He wants us to leave the Katsumoto right?"
"Quite the contrary, we are joining you here,"
"You got to be kidding," he said, it was a great piece of news. He would gladly relinquish his position to Master Tassadar, it isn't that great a job anyways.
"Nope, and well, I might as well start making myself at home," she said, Sakuma smiled and replied, "just turn right walk till the end of the corridor and you'll be at the female barracks,"
She took off her cloak dumped it on Sakuma's chair, Sakuma then asked, "Annalisa, what do you think you're doing?"
"I just commandeered your room,"
"You can sleep on the chairs," she said setting up the chairs into a bed and said, "see? I even set it up for you,"
He laughed and then said, "fine, I'll be the bigger man,"
He didn't care what other people thought about a girl moving into his room, he didn't care at all. Why? It is simple, they are cousins. They are legit cousins related by blood, orphaned together when Tassadar found them as infants. They are closer to each other then even siblings.
