People are always coming up with terror stories about hallucinogens being poisonous and dangerous but I think that most of that is the result of negative propaganda. If we are indoctrinated into believing that something will harm us, our mind will probably do so. The most important thing to remember when dealing with psychoactive drugs is that you are going to be in an altered state of consciousness, so embrace it instead of fearing it. If you let fear control you, you will end up with a bad trip and could potentially have physical problems as a result. In other words, make sure you realize that you are still in control of your mind and always use small doses when starting with something new.

That's true for the common hallucinogens, but salvia is something else entirely. It should be feared.
