Yes, that was very sad. Not to mention ironic, since he was apparently killed by the Batmobile. He had not been able to get it out of the traffic lanes, and another car ran into it from behind, shoving it into his body. He lived in the Baltimore region so he was quite a celebrity here. The story of his demise pops up on the TV news every couple of hours. Unfortunately, this is probably not a tradition that someone else will be happy to take over. The costume is latex, with no ability for sweat to evaporate. He always noted that wearing it for several hours was extremely uncomfortable and he often came home a few pounds lighter than he started. In the flurry of journalism, one writer identified the one thing that makes Batman somewhat more popular than other superheroes: He is the only superhero who has no super powers! He's just a regular guy, like you or me, who decided to make a difference. A role model for us all. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Totally agree. Sympathy also goes out to the family of Yvonne Craig, our first Batgirl. ps: I actually believed Eartha Kitt was the first. Obviously I was wrong.
Indeed. He proved that the "Batman" legend, while a little exaggerated for the media, is basically true: You don't have to have superpowers to make a difference!
